It's really not, he almost never steals third.  His famous quote was something like I'm always in scoring position at 2nd so why bother. 

Matter of fact, I looked it up.  He's only tried once in his career and was out.  I kinda remember the play, I think he overslid the bag at mach 3.  It was 2016 so he was still running wild.  He probably hadn't calibrated for less steps due to a larger lead.

Just looked at the TD writeup and the box score.  The writeup said Buxton was pinch ran for and the box score had no stolen bases.

That’s correct. He did his 7-inning gig and left the game. Not an injury.

In no way does Buxton deserve to be on the playoff roster. He will not have played in two months by the time WC game one comes around and he has nearly twice as many Ks as hits this season. I would much rather see young guys (i.e. Larnach, Stevenson, Kirilloff) over him.

When it was stated that Buxton had stolen 2nd and 3rd I thought Buxton's contribution to the team would be as PH/PR.  Alas that wasn't the case and my mind tells me that if Buxton isn't better than when he went on IL, he shouldn't be on the roster.  I expect the FO will make a place for him, even if its the 15th position player and my heart is OK with that.

I feel like it'd be best for both Buxton and the Twins if he just shut it down for the year. Even when "healthy" this season, he's been nothing but a liability, as much as I hate to say it. Even if he's just a bench bat, I honestly don't think I'd trust him at this point, even against a lefty, any more than Julien or whoever else he'd come in for.

Don't include Andrew Stevenson in this list.  He's just less than 6 months younger than Byron.

Buxtons likely role will be dh against a lefty and pinch hitter. Much rather have him doing that than Luplow.
