Nice win! One thing is still as clear as ever. Trevor Larnach can't hit Major League Pitching and why Detroit kept Badoo instead of Castro is beyond me. Nice having Rocco away from the team

Yes, I'd like to see Wallner hit in the 9th rather than any of the scheduled hitters.

Yeah I know we dont need to win but that was strange strategy.

Even letting solano hit. You basically know best case hes gonna single. AK/Wallner both have better chances to hit a homer/double and still walk/get on base enough to give Kepler a shot if needed.

Then yeah as we both said, burning Wallner last minute as a non hitter just odd.

The only reason I can think of is after leaving Lewis last night he didn't want to take a chance on Julien coming up lame attempting to score on a singe.

Yeah, I guess I can see that.  They are probably going to be a bit more careful after last night.

But it also begs the question, if Julien's legs are that shaky, why is he DHing in a semi-unimportant game when there are a wealth of other options on the bench (Larnach, Wallner, Kiriloff)?

Also appears they may want this as a full rest day for AK.

But if they are that worried about Julien probably shouldnt play.

Oh well at least Castro had a fun inning to get this thing tied! Still wish someone was able to hit for Stevenson but ill take entertaining meaningless baseball.

That inning shows why runs scored is so under rated compared to RBI....Castro did almost all the work there....hell, if that's a sacrifice fly, the catcher did almost nothing. Of course, it is still a stat heavily driven by your team mates....in any event, heck of a job by Castro. I thought they'd throw him out at third for sure there....

Home runs are great, but this scrappy baseball is exciting. Also, if the World Series happens to be played in Target Field in the snow, there are likely going to be a drop off in long balls. Good to see they can scrape runs out the hard way too.
