You think management makes decisions based on what their team needs to win?? C'mon man. Management cleary incorporates how much money they can make with every decision they make. Fan pressure (i.e. fan revenue) is the second largest source of revenue for a team outside of their TV deal. If you don't respect your second (or 3rd, 4th, 5th) source of revenue then you don't understand how to run a company (small or big). Management is affected by ticket sales, not fan attitudes, UNLESS, that is stated in ticket sales.

Nine of twelve Verified Member Posted August 6, 2023 Posted August 6, 2023 Tied in the middle of the 8th. This means the team that wins the game will do so in their last at-bat.
Beast Verified Member Posted August 6, 2023 Posted August 6, 2023 Pitching staff doing a phenomenal job tonight. Put a few runs on the Baird and reward them. It’s unbelievable that they have 8 stolen bases and have only scored 1 run. Can’t imagine that’s a likely outcome with 8 steals. Dman, glunn and RpR 3

Oh like all that fan pressure Twins fan's put on management before the trade deadline. That spurred them into making all those big moves. Or Yankee fans who've been merciless on Hicks for 3 years that finally forced their hand. wabene and RpR 1 1

Yeah, and ticket sales are affected by fan attitudes. Better attitude towards the team = more ticket sales.

I get your point about fan pressure and the Twins FO not making any moves. The Yankees were merciless on Hicks and they got rid of him, so I'm not sure what you're point is there. My overall point is Twins fans are so complacent and don't seem to hold CC accountable for his poor product on the field.

Fans gave on him long before that.

RickOShea Verified Member Posted August 6, 2023 Posted August 6, 2023 I refuse to give a pitcher the majority of credit for a job well done, when the hitter lets multiple pitches pass through the heart of the plate.
