What contender really wants a guy who can go 4 or 5 innings and then completely fall apart at the blink of an eye? Only a team that's extremely desperate, IMO. Every contender will want a decent SP. stringer bell Verified Member Posted July 18, 2023 Posted July 18, 2023 On Buxton, I guess the question is his health. Is he more injured than he was at the beginning of the season? The team knows--the trainer, the manager, etc.--and if he is as healthy or more so, there is no reason to expect that he won''t hit as he has the past few years if he's acceptably healthy. None of us fans know that answer. We've seen Buxton slump and then get really hot and while it is frustrating to watch him slump, eventually things will even out. I will add that the slump may be deepened by being a DH. He's probably thinking too much.
