Jocko87 Verified Member Posted May 14, 2023 Posted May 14, 2023 Stroman auto corrects to stroganoff. Also Stroman appears to be celebrating Mother’s Day with the mom walker 3000 shoe.
Squirrel Community Moderator Posted May 14, 2023 Posted May 14, 2023 I really don’t like the Cubs announcers.
rwilfong86 Verified Member Posted May 14, 2023 Posted May 14, 2023 Come on Farmer, let's blow this one open
Squirrel Community Moderator Posted May 14, 2023 Posted May 14, 2023 Damn. At least it wasn’t bases loaded no outs
rwilfong86 Verified Member Posted May 14, 2023 Posted May 14, 2023 Argh, Farmer first pitch swinging against a pitcher having control issues. Rally over.
CRF Verified Member Posted May 14, 2023 Posted May 14, 2023 It doesn't matter who comes up...the bases loaded curse endures.
Parfigliano Verified Member Posted May 14, 2023 Posted May 14, 2023 Bust it open here...or not. Guy on 2nd no outs to bases loaded 3 outs and no run out of it. Again.

But that was a good pitch to hit. He should just stand there? And if he gets out anyway after taking a few pitches, someone here would complain that he didn’t swing at that first pitch
Brock Beauchamp Site Manager Posted May 14, 2023 Author Posted May 14, 2023 Correa’s OPS on the verge of starting with a “7”.
Nine of twelve Verified Member Posted May 14, 2023 Posted May 14, 2023 I could tell Stroman is not tall, but per the Cubs web site he's only 5'7", 180 lb. It's really rare for a MLB pitcher to be that short. It's a big disadvantage because tall bodies have better leverage, making it easier to impart more momentum to the ball. Edited to add: tall people also stride closer to home plate, another advantage.

He's normally their radio guy and is quite good there. He paints a wonderful visual picture of what's happening, and I think he's more comfortable on the radio side. The regular TV guy is Jon Sciambi, but I'm guessing he has ESPN duties today. Jim Deshaies, doing color on TV, has a very dry sense of humor and will have some good puns over the course of the game.

Pitcher can't hit the zone and it increases the pitch count. Swinging at the first pitch there was the wrong decision. Not rocket science.

And I think Farmer knows better than either of us what he should/shouldn’t be doing

TV. They don’t exactly have the Twins info correct. Just find them a bit nasal

That was the rip on Berríos, as well. Berríos is listed at 6’0”, but might be a bit shorter.

I don't think you can have too much pitching. Both the Twins' starters this year and bullpen so far bear that out.
