But I actually have more faith in that than the opinion of a human pitch-caller. And the human pitch-callers have appeared not to do well during the last few games. Both pitchers have gotten one call out of the zone - low and away against Correa and Olivares
Aggies7 Old-Timey Member Posted April 30, 2023 Posted April 30, 2023 Vazquez’s defense leaves a lot to be desired
stringer bell Verified Member Posted April 30, 2023 Posted April 30, 2023 Not much chance to get Olivares. Unfortunate that the ball was thrown into his body and somehow got under him and into center field.
stringer bell Verified Member Posted April 30, 2023 Posted April 30, 2023 Big zone helped Gray there.

Umpires don't seem to want pitch calling responsibilities anymore.
Nine of twelve Verified Member Posted April 30, 2023 Posted April 30, 2023 On the replay of the check swing you could see Dozier say "That's not true." Or something like that.
Nine of twelve Verified Member Posted April 30, 2023 Posted April 30, 2023 Gray's ERA now down to 0.58.
ziggy Verified Member Posted April 30, 2023 Posted April 30, 2023 the umpires are cold. Probably heading to San Diego after todays game.

stringer bell Verified Member Posted April 30, 2023 Posted April 30, 2023 Pratto has been exciting in right field, probably not in a good way, if you're a Royals fan.

Or something like that. Watching the replay, i'd call it a strike, not because of the follow through, but because of where the bat is when the ball goes by.. Too lazy to read the definition, but there has to be something making a bunt offering a strike if ya don't pull it back or make contact, despite no follow through breaking the plate plane....
Nine of twelve Verified Member Posted April 30, 2023 Posted April 30, 2023 Love me an RBI with a runner on third.
sampleSizeOfOne Verified Member Posted April 30, 2023 Posted April 30, 2023 Small ball and Buxton speed, we got us a lead!
stringer bell Verified Member Posted April 30, 2023 Posted April 30, 2023 Bremer loves bunts. I'm glad they executed well. I'd say on plays like that, if the bunt gets down, there's a real good chance the bunter reaches too.
tony&rodney Old-Timey Member Posted April 30, 2023 Posted April 30, 2023 Great bunt by Gordon, also a fine play by the pitcher to get an out. We have seen the Twins try a few bunts to score runs instead of sitting around waiting for base hits. This is excellent fundamental baseball. Nobody should expect this all the time but it does make teams play defense.
stringer bell Verified Member Posted April 30, 2023 Posted April 30, 2023 Witt is really fast. That was a tough play because of his speed.
rwilfong86 Verified Member Posted April 30, 2023 Posted April 30, 2023 Looks like KC has caught "strandedrunneritis"
MMMordabito Verified Member Posted April 30, 2023 Posted April 30, 2023 Battle won against the Twins killer. Now win the war.
Nine of twelve Verified Member Posted April 30, 2023 Posted April 30, 2023 Gray's ERA now down to 0.56.
