About Mauer. There has been far too much whining about his injuries and contract. Sad commentary on those who participate.

This - Joe Mauer is almost universally among the top 10 catchers in baseball history (ranked #7 by Fangraphs resident expert HOF writer) and easily the best catcher in Senator/Twin history. Nobody who has ever clicked on this site will ever watch a better catcher play for the Twins in their lifetime.

Oh, and he will soon be #7 (Twins) in the Baseball Hall of Fame in Cooperstown.

Deservingly so

Will Rocco use one of his bench moves with ab representing the tying run?

Is Buxton an option?

As with pretty much 90% of all players who ever lived.

Not ones I have seen and I have been watching for over sixty years, simple as that.

True.  But a team fighting for ticket revenue ( I presumea) could have chosen another day.  How about Wednesdays?  They have a lot of day games scheduled (getaway day) and a lot of Thursday off days.  That scenarios provides possibly even more time off.  Sundays off is not the only scenario.

Or, you could just go to Saturdays game

Willie Mays Hayes had one tool and it wasn't hitting.  Gordon's hitting .284 this year.  Not sure of the comparison you are offering.

Mannerisms-, like Gordon just think at times he tries to hard,  All in Fun!!

Interesting that Sands, the right hander, was pulled against righty, Chapman, and lefty Thielbar was the choice. Is there splits that show Thielbar more effective against righties, or Champman less against lefties? Anybody know, right off hand, (ha)?

I guess I should have said 'weekend".  As a kid growing up in southern Minnesota, I would occassionally work a "weekend" to hel out a farmer who was going somewhere for the weekend.   Since I was in school, I was available Saturday and Sundays.

Why did they take Sands out when you have a righty/ righty match up, for a lefty / righty?

Shhh...it's part of Rocco's master plan.

Caleb got the job done, so it seemed to work out just fine.
