Game Thread: Twins v Blue Jays, 8/5/22 @ 7:10pm Local Time

This pitching staff is not gonna cut it.  The trades won't help as much as hoped.  Other than the recent Detroit games, who has this staf shut down?  And with this AAA lineup what a mess.

Zach Pop is a Blue Jays deadline acquisition.  Let's mess up his record too.

It's at least a better last name for a pitcher than former major leaguers Bob Walk and Johnny Gopherball.

Six innings from the starter is a breath of fresh air. It would have looked a lot better if he only allowed two or three runs.

The failed catch of the throw to first, in which beckham came off the bag, may not determine the final outcome, but it was contributory.  I looked up his profile and see him listed as a 

Tim Beckham

Positions: Shortstop, Second Baseman and Third Baseman

So Baldelli thinks he strengthens our defense by having him in the field?  A typical Baldelli screw up.

Check out Beckham's AAA fielding stats.  He has lost all his middle infield skillz.  Trying him at 1B isn't crazy.  But he's basically a DH at this point, and he doesn't have enough bat for that, forget those AAA stats built on an unsustainable BABIP.

Last time out Jax got knocked around. He was working on back-to-back days. I think he might be a guy who does need a day off between outings.
