Quantril with possibly the most unimpressive 8 inning start...ever?

Tito rode Quantrill in part because his BP had been exposed and got away with it. I wonder if there’s any way he brings him out for the ninth.

It’s probably just fine if you interpret it properly, but it is absolutely not as simple as “predictive era” unless all contact is equal. Some pitchers tend to give up hard contact, others induce pop-ups, grounders, foul balls, etc.

FIP purposely ignores that.

That "error" by Miranda cost 5 pitches, from 14 to 19. Significant.
