Paranoia (n.): An obsession with your nearest division rival before the first day of summer.

Jupiter?

It certainly was.

A story: My oldest child was in a local youth orchestra organization. There were, if memory serves, 7 orchestras ranging from beginners to top performers. The top orchestra (last to play) performed Jupiter as its last piece. A very cool touch was that members of all 7 orchestras memorized their respective parts to the portion of the piece that contained the theme that we heard between innings there, and they all played. It was totally awesome to hear that many instruments filling up the hall.

Thanks!

Yeah, i have played some (simplified?) version of it from time to time, but don't always pay as close attention to everything.

Weird... Princess Bride quotes jump more readily to mind.

From Bloom County, my favorite comic strip of all time, where Berke Breathed penned the trenchant line:

"Government is the last refuge of the nincompoop."

Glad I had swedish meatballs for dinner.  I figured chicken was too presumptuous for an early dinner.

While I am checking the CLE-LAD game, the Twins have the opportunity to take control of the division in the next two weeks.

Cleveland won a series on the road against LA, Minnesota lost a series on the road against Arizona. Teams are trending in opposite directions this weekend.

Trends mean nothing. What means something is how we do in our upcoming 8 games against them.

The Cleveland series should be quite interesting. The Twins have some talent, both established and young guys. The Cleveland ball club is largely young dudes. The one difference is Francona. I consider him to be the best manager in the game today. He is not a super human and the players decide the games but old Terry has the skills that others can only dream of.

Still, I'll pick the Twins to go 5-3 against the Clevelanders.
