Yankees fans discouraged about Josh Donaldson's lack of power

Well the Yankees are a bit spoiled in the HR department. A lack of HR and sluggish offenses in general are endemic leaguewide.

But sure, I hope Donaldson stays healthy all year and only goes deep six times all year.

Lol … so Yankees fans aren’t happy with Donaldson amid a 19-8 record, 2nd only to the Dodgers and not by much, that included an 11-game winning streak? And as a team have hit more home runs than any other team, with Judge and Rizzo tied with the most home runs of any player?

Sounds like Twins fans complaining when we win but the game is too boring ?

Thought I’d miss Donaldson more. But glad he’s there.

Lol, it wasn’t just you I’m picking on. But, remember, I should talk, when I nodded off during the game the other day. Heh

Yankee fans are the worst bloggers and commentators on the internet, despite the reality of many fine Yankee fans. The trade ideas forwarded by Yankee in the offseason are the most ridiculous by far, mostly just comical. One example - Luke Voit for Byron Buxton, but there were many that were even more stupid. Those type of comments smudge those many Yankee fans who understand and love baseball along with their team.

Didn't like Donaldson before he came here, and didn't like him when he was here. I'm really glad he's gone, and I'm thrilled he went to the Yankees. They deserve him! I give Fal-Vine a lot of credit for pulling off that trade. It freed up some money to sign Correa, and if Sanchez and Urshela would hit just a little bit, it would tip the scales even more in our favor.

I like Josh Donaldson a lot as a player, but time catches us all.  I said it at the time and I'll say it now, he could be a complete albatross before the end of this year.

Yeah I think that could be very true.

Alas the same could be said for Sanchez and Urshela it appears. Will Gary's grand slam on the 3rd day of the season be his only big moment as a Twin this year? Been a month since he's gone yard.

Don't look now, but his replacement at 3B has an OPS about 100 points lower and has a whopping 3 XBHs in 82 ABs...

But makes a quarter of the salary!  Seems like a bargain to me!

Sounds like climate change has brought about a drought at 3B in the Bronx. But at least he gives that veteran presence in the clubhouse and helps teach the younger Yankees how to go about their business. :) (Sarcasm is my middle name.)

Yup, they are struggling too but without the 25M pricetag now and next year.

Donaldson may not be hitting HR there yet, but he is not a complete waste.  Overall he has done better than Urshela and Sanchez.  I still am happy with the trade as without it we would not have brought in Correa, even for 1 season I still like it better.  I highly doubt Urshela stays the full year with the Twins and either Miranda or Lewis take over the full time 3b by all-star break.

I'd like to see what Lewis can do at 3rd base. I'd actually rather have Miranda at 1st over Arraez.

I agree, Urshela is trade bait at the trade deadline. He has done OK at 3B but the Twins don't need him now that Lewis, Miranda and Arraez will all be available to play 3B, SS, 1B and 2B. The Twins need to hang on to Sanchez. He is adequate plus.
