Through the Morris era, starters threw a lot of 88-90 mph fastballs. Now the average fb is 93 and guys with moderate velocity like Jax and Ober are throwing harder than 90% of pitchers in the 70s and 80s. 
 

It is a different generation and a different game. Not sure that I like it, but that’s how the game is played.

I wouldn't count on that. Aside from his mediocre major league track record before coming to the Twins, his early 2021 was built on a batting average of .400 on balls in play, versus the league average of .300.  Just not sustainable - enjoy the hot streaks while they happen, because they will be balanced by the cold ones.
