h2oface Old-Timey Member Posted June 22, 2021 Posted June 22, 2021 Arraez has been watching way too many called 3rd strikes.

And 4 new relief pitchers? This is a self-made problem by Falvey and Levine. If they keep signing players to 1 year deals this will continue to happen. They’ll have to try acquiring another Odorizzi type with controllable years left, or offer a multi-year contract to a free agent. If we don’t have enough minor league players to take out the bad MLB players that’s a whole other can of worms. And their time will be running out without showing progress on player development.
Vanimal46 Old-Timey Member Posted June 22, 2021 Posted June 22, 2021 Remember when the buzzword on Twins Daily was financial flexibility? Replacing half of the pitching staff every year is a con to the financial freedom.
shortround81 Verified Member Posted June 22, 2021 Posted June 22, 2021 Hang in there, boys! If we don't score in the bottom of the 9th, we're unstoppable in extras! ?
USAFChief Twins Daily Contributor Posted June 22, 2021 Posted June 22, 2021 I'm going out on a limb here, but I'm worried Our bullpen might turn out to be an issue this year.
Aggies7 Old-Timey Member Posted June 22, 2021 Posted June 22, 2021 Was only a matter of time before Robles blew one. Lives on the edge every outing
LVTwinsfan Verified Member Posted June 22, 2021 Posted June 22, 2021 If only the Twins could score runs late

Have at it.
Aggies7 Old-Timey Member Posted June 22, 2021 Posted June 22, 2021 Robles and colome are two fellas I won’t miss next year

If they sign long term, then the traders will just be calling to trade them anyway, right? Because the MO is to trade the best and keep the worst and hope.
h2oface Old-Timey Member Posted June 22, 2021 Posted June 22, 2021 Colome and Robles. Two 1 year rentals that I will never consider a Twin. I will be celebrating their end of term. Move on retreads.

That's what I've been trying to say since they got here.....you can't replace 3 starters every year. You just can't. And, right now, no one looks like a near term savior down in the minors.

Replacing half of the pitching staff every year is a con to the financial freedom. There were some of us that pointed out the positive spin being put on a questionable strategy for both the long and short term. You can get away with Hector Santiago, Lance Lynn, Martin Perez, ect when it's one rotation spot, and other starters are able to stay relatively healthy & pitch beyond the 4th inning, and you play in a terrible division. When you double down on that strategy, formerly reliable starters deal with ineffectiveness/injury, and a bullpen constructed much the same way as the rotation is exposed, you get the '21 season.
