sampleSizeOfOne Verified Member Posted June 11, 2021 Posted June 11, 2021 Complete the following sentence: "Revenge is a Dish best served ____" They knocked us out of the playoffs last year. True, it was crazy time season only 60 games long and extra special post season, but shouldn't that just make it easier to do something different than we normally do? Well, they have come all the way up i35*, the least we can do is show them some proper hospitality! Take a peek at the line ups. See anything in the following to pique your interest? Peak specimens, all! Astros: 0. Jose Urquidy (R) P 1. Jose Altuve (R) 2B 2. M. Brantley (L) LF 3. Alex Bregman (R) 3B 4. Yordan Alvarez (L) DH 5. Yuli Gurriel (R) 1B 6. Carlos Correa (R) SS 7. Kyle Tucker (L) RF 8. Myles Straw (R) CF 9. M. Maldonado (R) C Twins: 0. Bailey Ober (R) P 1. Trevor Larnach (L) LF 2. Josh Donaldson (R) 3B 3. Nelson Cruz (R) DH 4. Alex Kirilloff (L) RF 5. Gilberto Celestino (R) CF *hush ye who point out Houston isn't actually on i35, or i'll have to put this intro on the IR, and call up another unripe prospect game thread intro...
Dave The Dastardly Verified Member Posted June 11, 2021 Posted June 11, 2021 Revenge is best served with two shots of Jameson and a slaw burger. Antacids for dessert.
Dave The Dastardly Verified Member Posted June 11, 2021 Posted June 11, 2021 Ober over Shoe? Kind of daring... The Shoe only had an ERA around 243 his last start. Hate to see Rocco give up on the guy (that's sarcasm by the way).
Cap'n Piranha Verified Member Posted June 11, 2021 Posted June 11, 2021 I do not understand why Byron Buxton is not up for this game, with Kiriloff on the IL. What exactly does Buxton need more time for in St Paul? I would get it if he was 0-8 with 6 k's, but he has 2 homers and triple. Clearly, he's healthy, else I'm sure we would have heard about it. He's obviously not trying to regain his timing. So why for the love of all that's good and holy is he not manning center field tonight on the West side instead of the East side?

There are many mysteries in the Twins universe. Perhaps he's being saved for the playoffs.

wsnydes Old-Timey Member Posted June 11, 2021 Posted June 11, 2021 The bartender informed me that all garbage cans have been removed from the ballpark. I wouldn't want to be the people that need to clean this place up after this series...
wsnydes Old-Timey Member Posted June 11, 2021 Posted June 11, 2021 Revenge is best served with a Scotch, neat and a splash of water. And maybe some baseball to wash it down.

RickOShea Verified Member Posted June 11, 2021 Posted June 11, 2021 Obviously this coddling of players means nothing, as we continue to have a significant amount of injuries. These guys get hurt opening their 2 pieces of fan mail a week, so we're not shielding them from injuries. The turf and dirt in St Paul is just as hard as it is in Minneapolis. Let's get these back playing. Let them earn their overbearing salaries and give the fans an opportunity to see these goofballs in person.

"Hey Maximus, are you scheduled to perform in the coliseum today?" "No, I pulled a hammy yesterday pushing a chariot out of the way. Quiznos said I would probably be out for 3-4 weeks. I should be back for the Zeus games, though"

Okay, I'll confess to already having my two shots of Jameson and I know I need new glasses and I realize I'm three feet from the iMac but does anybody else see five fickle fingers of fate sticking up in the left field top deck?

stringer bell Verified Member Posted June 12, 2021 Posted June 12, 2021 BTW, the Astros lineup, top to bottom, looks like the best in the American League.

RickOShea Verified Member Posted June 12, 2021 Posted June 12, 2021 Ok, 2 singles. Let's get the hr out of the way.
RickOShea Verified Member Posted June 12, 2021 Posted June 12, 2021 Rocco looks good with slightly crossed eyes.
RickOShea Verified Member Posted June 12, 2021 Posted June 12, 2021 Donaldson can be such a rotten guesser, at times.

h2oface Old-Timey Member Posted June 12, 2021 Posted June 12, 2021 Get in the game Kirilloff. That was over a foot outside. You swung at the two balls and took the strike.
RickOShea Verified Member Posted June 12, 2021 Posted June 12, 2021 Sometimes you wonder what goes through these guys minds. I know they're professionals, but that only means they get paid to play.
RickOShea Verified Member Posted June 12, 2021 Posted June 12, 2021 Does this mean the Twins offense is now closed for the night?
