wavedog Verified Member Posted June 3, 2021 Posted June 3, 2021 Brilliant pinch-hitting move putting Sano in there. We almost had a rally starting, no way we would want that to continue.

I just caught the tail end of the conversation, but Provus and Gladden were talking about this and that it was league wide. Something about last year's short season contributing to it. It might have been that people were not as conditioned because of it or they took it easier in spring training this year because of it. Baltimore broke the game open around that time and for some reason I had to turn off the radio.
Irishman Verified Member Posted June 3, 2021 Posted June 3, 2021 I think losing batting coach James Rowson really hurt the Twins big time.
D.C Twins Verified Member Posted June 3, 2021 Posted June 3, 2021 Rocco using Sano to "Pinch Strike Out" was priceless. What an absolute clown car!
SanoMustGo Verified Member Posted June 3, 2021 Posted June 3, 2021 Why do the young guys seem to have a better approach to hitting than the vets?
mikelink45 Old-Timey Member Posted June 3, 2021 Posted June 3, 2021 Is it better to suffer in a crowd? Thanks for the therapy.
SanoMustGo Verified Member Posted June 3, 2021 Posted June 3, 2021 Well, 4 coming up with the Royals, 3 each with Houston and NY. I'm thinking 3-7, 2-8. That should euthanize the 2021 season. No point in rushing Buxton back, unless it's to show his trade value.
mikelink45 Old-Timey Member Posted June 3, 2021 Posted June 3, 2021 What poor TD writer gets to summarize this one? I believe there is a dictionary of pathetic performances that must be consulted.

I believe there is a dictionary of pathetic performances that must be consulted. I feel for Dick Bremer and whoever is sitting next to him. Gotta be painful. At least we can look away. What a colossal embarrassment this season has been. I can't recall the last time a 2-time defending division champ, predicted to finish 1st by most experts, has been the worst team in the league. The players have quit, the manager is out of ideas, and the front office is scrambling for excuses.
mikelink45 Old-Timey Member Posted June 3, 2021 Posted June 3, 2021 Here is the lead - Today is June 2 and the Twins played the Orioles who are reputed to be the worse team in the league. Being Minnesota nice we allowed them to win. Of course we did. We played a lot of rookies and they did as well as the vets. Actually if the vets had played as well as the rookies we might have won. What a shame that would be.
bighat Verified Member Posted June 3, 2021 Posted June 3, 2021 Side note: Cruz is completely overmatched at this point as well. We can only hope the guy has one more hot streak in him, otherwise he's not fetching much at the deadline.
