Every time I see Simmons, I get the impression that he really doesn't care. No energy, no emotion, just up there to go through the motions and collect his paycheck. Did he look like that when he played in LA?

Dick is correct that you are taught to peel out after you get rid of the ball, but you're also taught NOT to throw the ball if there is already someone standing on the bag. They were literally handing us an out. All you had to do was hold the ball. You had a free out. Inexcusable.

The fact that the Twins are using him, regularly, says a lot about just how putrid this pitching staff is.

The guy is - at most - a fringe Spring Training invitee type that you keep at AAA for depth, and/or just to scare the MLB lefthanders. He shouldn't be pitching in meaningful baseball games, ever.

Ironically, Thielbar has the highest K rate on this team, but it's pretty clear his time is up. Just too hittable and has been issuing more walks lately.

Donaldson is a choker.  He makes all the plays, until late in the game or crucial situation.

I predicted that Waddell would throw more innings for the Twins (and I was wrong) , but I don't have a lot of faith in Thielbar. That said, he twirled over twenty innings last yer with a 2.25 ERA and he's got a bunch of strikeouts this year. I'd say he's a marginal guy and not a staple. I would bet that if the Twins released him tomorrow that another team would pick him up.

Sigh--more of the same. All kinds of bad baseball. Can't get a big inning with no outs....more than once. Then a botched simple play in a rundown. A muffed infield dribbler.  And not to be a jerk---but honestly you don't gauge wins by how hard a ball is hit. Twins hit scorchers for loud noisy outs or DP grounders. A's hit bloops and infield hoppers and score runs. Hitting a ball hard as a meaningful stat, is meaningLESS to me. I see our opponents winning games without all this exit velocity, barreling up stuff.

Bottom line.. Twins continue to fail miserably with RISP...and especially with less than 2 outs. Classic Twins....batter k's with runners at 2nd and 3rd no outs. Next AB, solid single with two outs and none on. This is 2021 Twins baseball. Honestly, this game has been a huge mess.

The only game this team has won in the past 2 weeks was a wind-aided 8th inning HR that would have been caught in 27 other ballparks.

I don't see how this team doesn't lose 100+ games. They might be 20 games under .500 by next weekend.

The only player I have bagged on this year has been Sano (both games he hit a homer) They have to tell him not to swing at anything low and outside. Make him look at 500 pitches from a machine hitting in that vicinity and say 'NO' after each one. He's too late on fastballs and can do nothing with breaking balls in that area. I'm done with him.
