Game Thread "Unexpected Party" Twins vs Pirates 7:10pm cdt, 4/23/2021ad

[Danchat]

This never really felt like it was going to be a no-hitter, with the way Happ relies on groundballs and flyballs for outs. But a heck of a start! Now let's see if Duffey, and hopefully Rogers can close this one out.

[cHawk]

Please get out of this Duff

[MMMordabito]

Here we go

[Aggies7]

Nibbling to the 8th hitter

[MMMordabito]

Another nice pick by Tortuga!

[Aggies7]

Another nice pick by Tortuga!

For real, that could have been disastrous

[RickOShea]

Now Duffy's in heaven.  He gets to nibble after 2 strikes.

[Aggies7]

Well done

[cHawk]

Whew. Thank the sweet lord above.

[HokieRif]

[Mill1634]

Nice work by Duff man

[MNT1996]

I need my adrenaline fix. Give me Colome for the 9th

[cHawk]

Rogers and Duffey should be trustworthy bullpen arms, just not off to a good start

[MMMordabito]

I would like to think that Colome is unavailable.

[Danchat]

Polanco has made some nice plays at SS, he seems to be running on his ankle better. Now if only the pop in his bat could return.

And Astudillo is reminding everyone that most/many MLB hitters can play 1B without being a butcher.

[Mike Sixel]

I need my adrenaline fix. Give me Colome for the 9th

I'm 57.....so not sure my heart can take that....

[Dave The Dastardly]

I would like to think that Colome is unavailable.

Maybe he'll catch that mysterious hamstring disease that's been going around.

[FlauerPauer]

Let's not pretend that Astuillo has any reason to be on this team.....

[operation mindcrime]

Way to go Duffey!!!!!!!!!!

[RickOShea]

Yes, Rocco's rest and recuperate plan is kind of like stacking BB's.

[sampleSizeOfOne]

Let's not pretend that Astuillo has any reason to be on this team.....

Awww...

I like to pretend.

[Mill1634]

I am asking for a stress free 9th inning. Please. One time.

[FlauerPauer]

Awww...

I like to pretend.

I like to pretend that we don't collapse in the playoffs to the yankees....

[sampleSizeOfOne]

Stay on Target...

[ScrapTheNickname]

STD's are bad, I think we can all agree. But Save Tyler Duffy? Save Twins Daily? Those good.

[HokieRif]

[Danchat]

Let's not pretend that Astuillo has any reason to be on this team.....

He's literally 50% of our run production today... and being down 4 guys on the COVID list is reason enough. He's a bench player at best. He'll go back to that once everyone is healthy.

[RickOShea]

No way, Duffy closes this game out!

[FlauerPauer]

Kinda like Duffey as the closer...

[RickOShea]

Rogers is good for at least one extra base hit.  But I feel he'll get the save.  Meanwhile, Duffy sneaks in Rocco's office and takes a dump.
