TouchEmAllGuy Verified Member Posted April 14, 2021 Posted April 14, 2021 Prove us wrong mediocre lineup!!
sampleSizeOfOne Verified Member Posted April 14, 2021 Posted April 14, 2021 Pretty pedestrian lineup.Shut em down, Kenta.Yeah! No jaywalkin' on our basepaths!
Cap'n Piranha Verified Member Posted April 14, 2021 Posted April 14, 2021 Consecutive swinging strikes to start the game!
Diesel Verified Member Posted April 14, 2021 Posted April 14, 2021 What an awful call. I’m shocked Cora didn’t get ejected there
nicksaviking Community Moderator Posted April 14, 2021 Posted April 14, 2021 Wow, Joey Cora has better self control than I do.
nicksaviking Community Moderator Posted April 14, 2021 Posted April 14, 2021 I presume the Twins will get punished for their good fortune in short order.
nicksaviking Community Moderator Posted April 14, 2021 Posted April 14, 2021 **Moderator Note** Covid squabbling is too heavy of a topic for the game threads. Please stick to baseball and/or the inane things normally discussed.
Mill1634 Verified Member Posted April 14, 2021 Posted April 14, 2021 Lots of emotion out of Kenta. Way to work out of that. Looks like he may need to rely on the FB a bit more today.
cHawk Community Moderator Posted April 14, 2021 Posted April 14, 2021 I’m a little concerned about Maeda controlling his pitch count. He’ll need to be able to get through the 5th consistently.

TouchEmAllGuy Verified Member Posted April 14, 2021 Posted April 14, 2021 Potential dumb question alert: During these 7-inning doubleheaders, does the starting pitcher still need to go at least 5 innings to qualify for a win? Or are the requirements adjusted?

Cap'n Piranha Verified Member Posted April 14, 2021 Posted April 14, 2021 What kind of dirt does Polanco have on Rocco?

bighat Verified Member Posted April 14, 2021 Posted April 14, 2021 Kepler's first swing just now looked awful.
nicksaviking Community Moderator Posted April 14, 2021 Posted April 14, 2021 We got a two out hit! Oooh, but nobody was on base this tiime.

MNT1996 Verified Member Posted April 14, 2021 Posted April 14, 2021 What kind of dirt does Polanco have on Rocco? He has evidence that Rocco is a White Sox sleeper agent
cHawk Community Moderator Posted April 14, 2021 Posted April 14, 2021 That’s 0-1 w/RISP so far. Not a good start.
twinbythebay Verified Member Posted April 14, 2021 Posted April 14, 2021 Yes, a pitcher does have to go 5 innings to get a W. They will also get credited with a "complete game" if they go all 7.However, a 7-inning no-hitter or perfect game would not count in the record books. Quirky!
ScrapTheNickname Provisional Member Posted April 14, 2021 Posted April 14, 2021 Yes, he is. He chose not to get vaccinated with the team, so I hope his symptoms remain mild.I haven't heard about this. Do you have a source? Thanks. (This is upsetting, needless to say!)
Danchat Old-Timey Member Posted April 14, 2021 Posted April 14, 2021 He has evidence that Rocco is a White Sox sleeper agentIf so, Rocco has done a poor job. How’d he let the Twins finish a game above the Sox last year?
Cap'n Piranha Verified Member Posted April 14, 2021 Posted April 14, 2021 He has evidence that Rocco is a White Sox sleeper agent I always wondered how individuals would handle working/playing for a team that they previously didn't like.
Squirrel Community Moderator Posted April 14, 2021 Author Posted April 14, 2021 I haven't heard about this. Do you have a source? Thanks. (This is upsetting, needless to say!)It's on the Twins website, too ... but here it is ... saying he tested positive and is experiencing mild symptoms. https://www.mlbtraderumors.com/2021/04/twins-place-andrelton-simmons-on-covid-19-list-select-jt-riddle-promote-alex-kirilloff.html And as Nick said, this isn't the place to get into a heavy Covid discussion. If you are referring to his choice not to vaccinate, that was on either his Twitter or IG account. (I forget which one I saw it on, but if you are curious, I could point you in that direction via PM)

That's the source I'm looking for. Thanks again.
bighat Verified Member Posted April 14, 2021 Posted April 14, 2021 I always wondered how individuals would handle working/playing for a team that they previously didn't like.I don't think they care that much - it's a lot like going to work for a competitor in the business world. When I worked in media sales in Chicago almost 10 years ago, we had all sorts of competitors. We'd examine their sales pitches, critique their product, and maybe even trash them a little bit behind closed door meetings. Then I quit my job and after a couple of months realized I needed a new one, pronto. When that old competitor called me up and asked me to come in for an interview, I was thrilled to get an opportunity. All bad blood was forgotten, they'd never personally wronged me in any way, and I quickly realized I didn't care who was signing my paychecks as long as I was getting one!
MNT1996 Verified Member Posted April 14, 2021 Posted April 14, 2021 Well hopefully Kirilloff's hitting is better than his hustle in the OF today
Mill1634 Verified Member Posted April 14, 2021 Posted April 14, 2021 Kirloffs defense is....not great
