Nine of twelve Verified Member Posted September 7, 2020 Posted September 7, 2020 Let's just get out of this inning and call it a game.
sampleSizeOfOne Verified Member Posted September 7, 2020 Posted September 7, 2020 I imagine a rain delay was called... Mlb tv couldn't make up its mind for a little while between Thanks for watching, commercial break, going back to the Rocco interview clips before the game started, then finally settled on "the event will begin shortly."
Diesel Verified Member Posted September 7, 2020 Author Posted September 7, 2020 What an outing for Pineda!
Mill1634 Verified Member Posted September 7, 2020 Posted September 7, 2020 About the best outing you could ask from Pineda in his second start of the year. Racked up swings and misses on his slider, and didn't really allow anything to be hit hard. He is the third starter in the playoffs for this team, and it really isn't close.

John Kelsey Verified Member Posted September 7, 2020 Posted September 7, 2020 Wade's potential is fairly limited but I love watching his ABs.

I'd have him second behind Maeda at the moment.
Sielk Verified Member Posted September 7, 2020 Posted September 7, 2020 Wade's potential is fairly limited but I love watching his ABs.I do, too. Especially because other players with limited potential will often take awful swings-and-misses at the worst possible moments. Wade never does that.
twinssporto Verified Member Posted September 7, 2020 Posted September 7, 2020 Pineda looked great! 7 innings and 3 hit 2 run ball is fantastic. Our starting 3 could be a strong group during the playoffs. Maeda, Pineda are looking good. I'd like to see Berrios take it up another notch and we could have a very good rotation. You still have Hill and Dobnak to rely on as well.
Mill1634 Verified Member Posted September 7, 2020 Posted September 7, 2020 Really surprised that this game hasn't been delayed/called yet. The field does not look great
sampleSizeOfOne Verified Member Posted September 7, 2020 Posted September 7, 2020 What happened in the inning i missed. Yeah, i am not always pleased with MLB tv behaves, but i am too lazy to complain to someone more meaningful than you all. I see Detroit got one run in. How'd that happen?
ashbury Verified Member Posted September 7, 2020 Posted September 7, 2020 Late to the party here, but NICE pitch sequence to Cabrera! Focusing on what works off-speed, then playing off of that with the high fastball followed by the breaking pitch down. Jeffers-Stashak firing on all cylinders on that PA.
ashbury Verified Member Posted September 7, 2020 Posted September 7, 2020 Really surprised that this game hasn't been delayed/called yet. The field does not look greatI was expecting them to call the game after the Tigers' half of the 8th, but apparently not.
ashbury Verified Member Posted September 7, 2020 Posted September 7, 2020 Behind who? I'd have him second behind Maeda at the moment. Concur. I've got a theory Rocco will go with who he feels will go deepest into the game with good results, based on actual game results, and the data will be thinnest for Pineda but right now he's got a chance to be #1, not behind nobody nohow.
John Kelsey Verified Member Posted September 7, 2020 Posted September 7, 2020 Ball isn't traveling on a cold day, eh?
Nine of twelve Verified Member Posted September 7, 2020 Posted September 7, 2020 Good morning, good afternoon, good night!
ashbury Verified Member Posted September 7, 2020 Posted September 7, 2020 3 Ks in the ninth. Welcome back, Taylor Rogers!
TwinsCD Verified Member Posted September 7, 2020 Posted September 7, 2020 Pineda with a giant lift for the entire staff and keeping the bullpen use to a minimum ahead of tomorrow's DH. Nice to be back on a consistent winning basis and now let's pluck some Redbirds in the Loo.
Mill1634 Verified Member Posted September 7, 2020 Posted September 7, 2020 TWINS WIN!!! The B lineup comes through exactly when we needed them to, and the defense was good from Cave's catch, to Wade's scoop at 1st (!!) base. Pineda looked like he did through the majority of last year, and Stashak picked up right where he left off. The most encouraging sign may be Rogers, who struck out the side in order. Let's play two tomorrow!! Go Twins!!!
IndianaTwin Verified Member Posted September 7, 2020 Posted September 7, 2020 Why, yes, I do have chicken marinating in the fridge in preparation for the grill.
dbminn Verified Member Posted September 7, 2020 Posted September 7, 2020 Winner Winner, Chicken... Dinner?
mrtwinsfan Old-Timey Member Posted September 7, 2020 Posted September 7, 2020 I have to believe we're going to see more and more of players bunting and just chopping the ball the other way to beat the shift.Hope so, i miss the strategy off all of it !!!
mrtwinsfan Old-Timey Member Posted September 7, 2020 Posted September 7, 2020 I do, too. Especially because other players with limited potential will often take awful swings-and-misses at the worst possible moments. Wade never does that.He understands who and what got him here , alot of Good limit the negative and what he really dores well is keep his eye on the ball,
stringer bell Verified Member Posted September 7, 2020 Posted September 7, 2020 Only two more left with Detroit. I like what they've done with their team. They aren't deep and have lost two ex-Twins to injury right now. Goodrum and Cron. If they had those two, they could move Candelario to third and maybe Goodrum to the OF. Their starters appear to have potential and they have some good arms in the bullpen, not enough obviously. I guess I see these Tigers as similar to the mid-decade Twins. If things go right as soon as next year, they could be a playoff team. The Twins probably won't dominate the division as soon as next year unless they improve. Chicago will probably be good for quite a while, Cleveland has the best pitching in baseball, and both KC and Detroit are on the rise.
