Diesel Verified Member Posted September 7, 2020 Posted September 7, 2020 I am sick of watching the Tigers this year! Of course, playing the same team 8 times in under 2 weeks doesn't help, but seriously! All I see is sneaky good defense, young pitchers with potential, hit parades, and some great base stealers. It reminds me of those pesky piranhas of Gardenhire's tenure as Twins manager, and I am shocked that this style of baseball can still win in today's game. Twins SP: Michael Pineda 1B Lamonte Wade Jr. 3B Josh DonaldsonDH Brent RookerLF Eddie Rosario2B Marwin GonzalezCF Byron BuxtonRF Jake CaveSS Ehire AdrianzaC Ryan Jeffers Tigers SP: Michael Fulmer CF Victor Reyes2B Jonathan SchoopDH Miguel Cabrera1B Jeimer CandelarioSS Willi CastroLF Christin StewartRF Jorge BonifacioC Austin Romine3B Isaac Paredes Michael Fulmer has had a strange career, to say the least. An incredible start, highlighted by an All-Star appearance and a Rookie of the Year award, followed by mediocrity and injuries. If Fulmer can come back to his peak and pitch alongside Mize, Turnbull, and Skubal for a few years..... I liked having 3 mediocre teams in our division, not just one. Let's play ball!

USAFChief Twins Daily Contributor Posted September 7, 2020 Posted September 7, 2020 Polanco, Cruz, Sano, and Arraez ALL need a day off? This is a real weakness of Rocco.
sampleSizeOfOne Verified Member Posted September 7, 2020 Posted September 7, 2020 Almost game time... Gotta throw some laundry in the warsher and then i'll be back.
a-wan Verified Member Posted September 7, 2020 Posted September 7, 2020 Any word on Cruz and his bum hip? I'm not yet 40, and wake up with hip tightness everyday. Here's to Rosario now knowing the ground rules of his home park.
sampleSizeOfOne Verified Member Posted September 7, 2020 Posted September 7, 2020 Polanco, Cruz, Sano, and Arraez ALL need a day off? This is a real weakness of Rocco. We got Buxton and Donaldson! What can go wrong?
a-wan Verified Member Posted September 7, 2020 Posted September 7, 2020 Polanco, Cruz, Sano, and Arraez ALL need a day off? This is a real weakness of Rocco. It is Labor Day after all. Give the players some rest, since MLB doesn't like Labor Day and all.
Nine of twelve Verified Member Posted September 7, 2020 Posted September 7, 2020 I hope Rocco is doing the right things giving players as much rest as he does. He certainly knows more about running a team than any of us. Keep in mind the manager's goal is to win the World Series. Or in the case of this season the quasi-World Series. No two managers will approach that goal the same way. If he has everyone healthy and playing well and the team qualifies for the postseason I'm fine.
Nine of twelve Verified Member Posted September 7, 2020 Posted September 7, 2020 Let's make sure we are leading after 4 1/2 innings. The radar makes it look like the game might not go 9.
Vanimal46 Old-Timey Member Posted September 7, 2020 Posted September 7, 2020 That’s quite the getaway lineup. Wade leading off... Yikes.
blindeke Verified Member Posted September 7, 2020 Posted September 7, 2020 The Twins are gonna make Fulmer look like Clayton Kershaw, aren't they...
curt1965 Verified Member Posted September 7, 2020 Posted September 7, 2020 Polanco, Cruz, Sano, and Arraez ALL need a day off? This is a real weakness of Rocco.6 non-starters starting today! Agree 100% Chief-a win today counts the same as in game 60.
curt1965 Verified Member Posted September 7, 2020 Posted September 7, 2020 Real lucky if we score 2 today.
Danchat Old-Timey Member Posted September 7, 2020 Posted September 7, 2020 Apparently Cruz and Sano have some soreness, which is why they've been out of the lineup. Hopefully they can score some runs without them. Pineda looks like he's having a Odorizzi-esque outing; effective, but taking a lot of pitches.
sampleSizeOfOne Verified Member Posted September 7, 2020 Posted September 7, 2020 That’s quite the getaway lineup. Wade leading off... Yikes. At least he takes pitches. We ain't exactly been known for that.
FlauerPauer Verified Member Posted September 7, 2020 Posted September 7, 2020 Marwin has fallen off a cliff since his hot start to the year. .600 OPS from a guy who basically plays every day. Yikes.
sampleSizeOfOne Verified Member Posted September 7, 2020 Posted September 7, 2020 Real lucky if we score 2 today. Then i hope we are really lucky.
sampleSizeOfOne Verified Member Posted September 7, 2020 Posted September 7, 2020 Oh yeah... Laundry. The important things in life.
FlauerPauer Verified Member Posted September 7, 2020 Posted September 7, 2020 Big Mike looking solid through three.
Nine of twelve Verified Member Posted September 7, 2020 Posted September 7, 2020 That was a big boy home run.
Brock Beauchamp Site Manager Posted September 7, 2020 Posted September 7, 2020 Rooker looks like an MLB hitter.
FlauerPauer Verified Member Posted September 7, 2020 Posted September 7, 2020 Would have liked to see Wade sent home on that play, especially with the offense struggling to score runs.
Danchat Old-Timey Member Posted September 7, 2020 Posted September 7, 2020 Rooker looks like an MLB hitter. So far so good, but I imagine he's going to run into K troubles eventually (pitchers making adjustments) and he'll have to overcome that. He had a pretty high K rate in AAA. That's not to say I don't believe in him, but it won't be easy.
Mill1634 Verified Member Posted September 7, 2020 Posted September 7, 2020 EDDIE!!!! Also....Eddie.....sigh
Nine of twelve Verified Member Posted September 7, 2020 Posted September 7, 2020 Would have liked to see Wade sent home on that play, especially with the offense struggling to score runs. Not to worry. Eddie got him in. And Donaldson. And he sacrificed himself to make sure Rook scored too.
