If the Twins continue this slide, Larnach and/or Kirilloff should have a shot playing outfield. Kepler has looked lost this season.

Hill, May, Clippard, Romo are  all FA's. Trading Sano at high value would be smart.

No way I'm trading Sano.

And they should have been adding, any way. You don't get many better chances at the post season.

Kepler needed to catch that ball, but that only put one runner on. Rogers needs to pitch like a closer in that situation.

Question about unearned runs. How is that determined? It doesn't seem like all of those should've been unearned.

Reconstruct the inning without the error. As it played out, nobody would have scored.

Pineda starts next game.  The following game start Jhoan Duran and push Berrios back a day.  Why not, we need to disrupt the stagnation?  I would also get Balazovic to camp in St. Paul.  We might as well use our games wisely and win or lose with the future pitchers we are going to need.  Bailey, Hill, and Odo are most likely gone next year (and should be).  As should Romo, Smeltzer, Thielbar (stopgap) and Thorpe.  Isn't May in need of a deal too?  There is ROOM to explore Duran, Colina, Chalmers, and whomever else they want to throw at this mess of a staff.  Just move on from the obvious pitchers that have no future with us.  I could care less about service time - they don't utilize it correctly anyways.

Rogers should not be the defacto closer for every game this year until he proves to be more effective.  He just seems to be losing focus this year.  Not sure why.

Larnach probably won't get a shot due to off-season roster space concerns (he doesn't need to be added). I think Kirilloff and Rooker are the two that should be called up. This team is desperate for some sort of spark so why not give them a chance. They are almost certain to be better hitters than Cave, Wade, and Gonzalez.

If the last 5 didn't do it, why would this one?

Cause this feels like rock bottom man.   Until tomorrow when Pineda gets chased in the 2nd.

If he caught the ball and everything else played out the same way, two still score - single, double puts them on 2nd and 3rd, single scores two.

The way Rogers threw, there's little reason to believe he gets them 1-2-3.

I am really starting to believe that James Rowson was a lot more valuable than I could have ever imagined. When pretty much every hitter outside of Cruz and Sano has been worse than last season it gets harder and harder to explain away the drop-off.

Getting swept by the Tigers should've been rock bottom.

Yeah the Twins should have been sellers. I don't think that's even an overreaction. The FO thinks that this team can repeat what they did last year and the fact is that last year was an extremely lucky year with a lot of players having career years at the same time. This roster just can't compete with the elite teams. Twins are missing some key pieces for the future and the FO failed to recognize that.

Rodgers has been terrible this season.

Nope, if he catches the ball, 2 out, none on. Single, ground rule double, Mendick strikes out. Inning over, no scoring.

I'm not saying Rogers doesn't bear blame, I'm just explaining why all three are unearned runs. That's the scoring rule...reconstruct the inning without the error(s).

Maybe they should've been sellers today. This is pathetic.

Today?

It will take a few games for KC and Detroit to pass us. But if they do the cellar we shall be. If we could do it today, that would be celerity indeed!
