Can you imagine playing 53 games in 44 days?!? That's what the St. Louis Cardinals face for their final stretch of the season, after a COVID-19 outbreak led to games being cancelled for over 2 weeks. This season has been very odd, but luckily for the Twins, today's doubleheader was caused by weather, and not a virus. Jake Odorizzi and Jose Berrios will start today with a well-rested bullpen and possibly an extra player on the roster.

Recently, Patrick Mahomes of the Kansas City Chiefs became part of the ownership team of the Royals. As most of you guys know, his dad played on the Twins, but also did something very idiotic 26 years ago today....

MINNESOTA TWINS pitcher Pat Mahomes was expected to be charged with driving under the influence of alcohol after he rolled his Jeep Grand Cherokee in a one-car accident early Monday morning, a spokeswoman for the Minneapolis Police Department said Monday. Mahomes, 24, who incurred head injuries, was released from Hennepin County Medical Center late in the afternoon. He was originally in serious condition, but was upgraded to satisfactory by mid-afternoon. Mahomes, who was alone, was traveling at "a fairly high rate of speed" when his vehicle crossed the center line, hit a guard rail and rolled over, a police spokeswoman said. He was not wearing a seat belt and was trapped until police were able to get him out.

Just over a year later, the Super Bowl-winning quarterback was born. 

 

30 minutes after the first game is finished, a second game will begin pitting Jose Berrios against Danny Duffy. Lineups will be updated as soon as possible.

Using the radio WCCO audio helps when it comes to the annoying music between pitches, FYI.

At least he's fresh.

 

Theoretically, all the relievers should be fresh with two days off. I guess I just think Poppen is a AAAA player, but after thinking about it, why not bring him up in the case of a blowout, he could pitch and get sent down.

Remember all the hype about the thought of Arraez hitting .400 or winning a batting title? Me too...

 

I know he's been getting some bad luck, but needs to make adjustments on that inside pitch. Striking out way too much.
