Finally, some runs on this Royals bullpen! It seems like the Twins like to score most often in the 3rd inning for some reason.

Odo's looking much better today. Pitch count is still as high as ever for having just a single baserunner, but he's getting the job done today.

Well, I think Odo can get through 5.  Amazing he's only allowed one runner through 4 and is nearly at 70 pitches. I just don't know how he consistently gets his pitch count so high.

Miguel legs out an infield single. Will have to remember that one, too.

And makes it to third on a single.

Courtesy of a called hit and run on a full count, but still, execution counts for something.

Because of foul balls. In the first three innings it was much better than usual but in the fourth the KC hitters really began to foul off one pitch after another.

And that's usual for him. He strikes out lots of hitters but often only after they managed to foul off a whole bunch of pitches.

not a hit and run...

Not on a 3-2 count.

Can't throw that cookie on a 0-2 count. Now the Royals are right back in it...

Always seems like we play the Royals in close games, last year too.

Only 1 out, so, yeah, a conservative hit and run, but still there is a chance of Arraez getting struck out, and Sano not successfully stealing second.

indeed, but not a H&R. The batter could also take the pitch for ball four. On a H&R, the hitter doesn't have the option, he's expected to put the ball in play.

Putting a runner in motion on 3-2 isn't referred to as a H&R.

Great start from Odo, but by the 4th, the sharpness was eroding. Not terribly surprising he couldn't get through the 5th.

Still an encouraging start and step forward. He looked much much better than 1st game out.
