For those who didn't see the Royce Lewis interview during the game, he says he gained about 20 lbs in the off-season. He's now weighing in at 209, spent the winter working out with Torii Hunter, Matt Kemp, and LaTroy Hawkins in Texas. He talked about learning and listening to veterans - including Donaldson - seems like the level-headed kid we all have been told he was.

Definitely joking.   Chief likes to overreact to small sample size early in the season.   Its one of his many shticks.    1 hit and 1 walk in two innings isn't bad for a first outing.   Interesting last comment though.   I can't tell if you are joking or bashing.   How is MN different than LA or Japan and how does it matter when they are playing in Florida?  lol

I used to react to small sample sizes... might even say i took it personally. It's not worth it. Who can say what size sample is ample?

Yeah, but this is the only time we can overreact to small sample size.  The more games we get into it the less we can overreact.    People don't seem to realize these early Spring Training games mean just as much as the late Spring Training games.

Another example of a good trade that went bad.  Lombo wasn't really all that good in 87 and was hitting .094 through April of 88.   Herr was coming off a strong season of .393 OBP and looked like a perfect fi for the lineup that needed table setterst.  As an aside I liked Bruno ok but not more than that.   Anyway, Herr's stats with the Twins weren't all that bad but he was pretty open about not wanting to be here and really seemed like one of those cancers that suck the life out of a team.

Welcome to the site.   Great content and even though opinions vary greatly the moderators do a good job of keeping things civil and respectful.   Debates on the articles can get a little heated sometimes but the game threads are mostly the equivalent of watching the game with your smart ass brother.  Conversation can go off on any tangent and sometimes we even talk about the game.
