cleveland lost to kc? at home? in extra innings? how could they not sweep???

 

they choked! wadda buncha losers! they don't deserve to make the playoffs! they don't care about the fans! fire management! dfa the players!

Only the Twins bullpen can have fans pleading for insurance runs up by 5 in the 8th .

I have been pleading for insurance runs since the 1960s.   :)

Ramirez our for Cleveland, Buck coming back for the Twins. That is a monumental power shift in the Twins favour.

 

And don't forget the setback for Kluber. Sometimes the injury gods smile, even on the Twins.

I guess I don’t get Stashak in this situation over Thorpe. Isn’t Thorpe far more likely to be in the running for a postseason roster spot? Isn’t he the guy you want to see in a relatively close game?

Shoulda put Thorpe in in the 7th.  Would really have had people freaking out

My bad. I thought that the broadcasters said that the tying run was in the on-deck circle, but either they were wrong (is that possible?) or I mis-heard (likely).

Not listening to the broadcast, but I doubt if they said that a reliever can put himself into a save situation.

It would have been a save situation had they pulled Thorpe for someone else.

Bremer is discussing that their lead increased on this homestand. True, but the bigger news is that there are fewer and fewer games for Cleveland to make up their deficit. Especially true of this weekend--both the Twins and Cleveland played bad teams at home, both won two of three and there are now three less games for the Tribe to make up games in the standings.

thats why Royals closer does not get a blown save today as they had a four run lead when he started the inning

I'm not sure I'd ever thought about the other side of that coin, but fair's fair.
