It was the June of 1994 and our local lads, the Twins, ripped off 11 wins in 14 games to become briefly relevant in the newly created AL Central after playing .500 ball through the Spring. It was a mo

Royals are going to end up just giving the Indians some hope in the 9th purposely just to crush their dreams in the 10th. I like their style.

Not for Thorpe. But, yeah...

My bad. I thought that the broadcasters said that the tying run was in the on-deck circle, but either they were wrong (is that possible?) or I mis-heard (likely).

Not listening to the broadcast, but I doubt if they said that a reliever can put himself into a save situation.

It would have been a save situation had they pulled Thorpe for someone else.

Bremer is discussing that their lead increased on this homestand. True, but the bigger news is that there are fewer and fewer games for Cleveland to make up their deficit. Especially true of this weekend--both the Twins and Cleveland played bad teams at home, both won two of three and there are now three less games for the Tribe to make up games in the standings.

thats why Royals closer does not get a blown save today as they had a four run lead when he started the inning

I'm not sure I'd ever thought about the other side of that coin, but fair's fair.

You know what's not fair, though? Kennedy gets the Win. The ultimate Vulture win. :)

"Winning Pitcher" Ian Kennedy.

Edit: Ninja'd by Ashbury!
