Nine of twelve Verified Member Posted July 26, 2019 Posted July 26, 2019 What would be the real irony of that Yankees series is that it reignited the Twins offense and ended up destroying the Yankees pitching staff.Despite losing two games, the Twins bullpen somehow escaped without being legitimately damaged and gets another break tonight. If our BP can stay relatively rested and perform relatively well on this road trip it can be reasonably argued that Smeltzer was the most valuable player during the Yankee series.

What a score! Not sure what happened to all their starters... we didn't do anything to Tanaka, and he gave up a whopping 12 runs. Yowsers!

Mill1634 Verified Member Posted July 26, 2019 Posted July 26, 2019 Let's hope Poppen can keep the roll of rookies throwing well out of the bullpen rolling!
Brock Beauchamp Site Manager Posted July 26, 2019 Posted July 26, 2019 Looks like the Yankees had few bullpen options and had to let him eat it on a day he wasn’t throwing well. And he still only went 3.1. Also, the Royals just got out of a jam in the eighth. Still a tie game.
PDX Twin Verified Member Posted July 26, 2019 Posted July 26, 2019 Don't have to retouch second in Cuba???
mrtwinsfan Old-Timey Member Posted July 26, 2019 Posted July 26, 2019 Abreau that was the funniest play
Nine of twelve Verified Member Posted July 26, 2019 Posted July 26, 2019 As sloppy as the Twins were earlier that baserunning gaffe was by far the worst mistake I've seen by a MLB player in many years.
mrtwinsfan Old-Timey Member Posted July 26, 2019 Posted July 26, 2019 he was on the grass, coming back LOL
DiscGolfer Verified Member Posted July 26, 2019 Posted July 26, 2019 There's one of those mulit out plays, not the type you see everyday but I'll take it
Nine of twelve Verified Member Posted July 26, 2019 Posted July 26, 2019 Based on the earlier call involving Engel Abreu must have thought that you can just go wherever you want when you are a baserunner. I guess that's a logical deduction.

PDX Twin Verified Member Posted July 26, 2019 Posted July 26, 2019 Whos Poppen ? The question is ... Is Poppen fresh?
Squirrel Community Moderator Posted July 26, 2019 Posted July 26, 2019 As sloppy as the Twins were earlier that baserunning gaffe was by far the worst mistake I've seen by a MLB player in many years. Not only that, he didn’t seem to really know what he did. Sox announcers noticed he didn’t retouch 2nd right away.

Brock Beauchamp Site Manager Posted July 26, 2019 Posted July 26, 2019 Heading to the bottom of the ninth in KC, still tied.

Shaitan Verified Member Posted July 26, 2019 Posted July 26, 2019 Wasn't Castillo with the Twins in Spring Training?
MNT1996 Verified Member Posted July 26, 2019 Posted July 26, 2019 I'm beginning to wonder if we should just replace our entire bullpen with AAA callups
Mill1634 Verified Member Posted July 26, 2019 Posted July 26, 2019 Kinda surprised we didn't see Torres, throw him how many ever pitches it takes, and then DFA him for Allen after tonight. It could still very well happen.
Squirrel Community Moderator Posted July 26, 2019 Posted July 26, 2019 Okay, runner on, 2 outs, bottom 9th ...
Nine of twelve Verified Member Posted July 26, 2019 Posted July 26, 2019 WWCD! Now to see if the Royals can help us out.
