Don Walcott Verified Member Posted July 21, 2019 Posted July 21, 2019 He is Gibson level, maybe slightly better. He isn't an ace. He has name recognition, but he isn't better than JO or Odo. He is dominant against lefties, average against righties, certainly not an ace.I disagree. But we can leave that discussion for one of the many other articles on this site.
Mill1634 Verified Member Posted July 21, 2019 Posted July 21, 2019 No. Email me when Gibson has any post season experience on the same stratosphere as Bumgarner. And yeah I realize it’s 2019 but nobody ever would take Gibson over Bumgarner unless they’re new to baseballI don't care what prime Madison Bumgarner then. He isn't close to the same pitcher now as he was back then. Are you taking Hanley Rameriz over Jorge Polanco or Fernando Rodney over Taylor Rogers because of experience? I didn't think so.
Riverbrian Old-Timey Member Posted July 21, 2019 Posted July 21, 2019 Anderson has completely disrupted the Twins timing, just can't hit him hard. Every time I watch Anderson pitch over the years... He seems crafty. Like he knows what he is doing. I've just never watched him stay healthy.
Squirrel Community Moderator Posted July 21, 2019 Posted July 21, 2019 Cmon ... at least make it to the end of 6 ...
BattleYourTailOff Verified Member Posted July 21, 2019 Posted July 21, 2019 You’d roll with Gibson over Bumgarner post season 2019? Dohkay. Hope Rogers can pitch 6 innings against NYY
Riverbrian Old-Timey Member Posted July 21, 2019 Posted July 21, 2019 four innings from rogers should do the trick. I'd be perfectly OK with that.
tvagle Verified Member Posted July 21, 2019 Posted July 21, 2019 This GT could use some Cake or Cookies or Rib Eye or Chicken Corn Dogs...anything as long as it's not a taco!
wabene Verified Member Posted July 21, 2019 Posted July 21, 2019 Huh? IDK seems pretty self explanatory. I think Berrios is a cool guy and a better pitcher than Marcus. Marcus seems like a dick. I don't want him on our team. That being said it seems like we often hear people saying Berrios doesn't have his best stuff tonight.

FLTwinsGuy Verified Member Posted July 21, 2019 Posted July 21, 2019 That was a painful 5 2/3 innings of shut out baseball lol..if there is such a thing

Mill1634 Verified Member Posted July 21, 2019 Posted July 21, 2019 Those two outs are big, as long as we can get out of it. That is two less outs the rest of fhe bullpen has to get to get the ball to Rogers. Hoping we are able to get thru the 7th and 8th without using Rogers, but who knows.
operation mindcrime Verified Member Posted July 21, 2019 Posted July 21, 2019 He can't pitch to the #9 hitter? Is his arm gonna fall off or something?
glunn Community Moderator Posted July 21, 2019 Posted July 21, 2019 I am watching this through Gamecast yet praying that Baldelli brings in a reliever.
bighat Verified Member Posted July 21, 2019 Posted July 21, 2019 Okay Duff Man. Just this one time buddy. No wild pitches, no walks, no homers. Just a quick out and we'll all be happy.
PDX Twin Verified Member Posted July 21, 2019 Posted July 21, 2019 Okay Duff Man. Just this one time buddy. No wild pitches, no walks, no homers. Just a quick out and we'll all be happy. Well, technically, one WP or BB wouldn't hurt, as long as there is an out.
obtusebanter Verified Member Posted July 21, 2019 Posted July 21, 2019 I may be wrong but hasnt Anderson always done well against Minnesota? Im about over these grounders 3-3 with a 3.83 ERA across 9 games and 7 starts.
glunn Community Moderator Posted July 21, 2019 Posted July 21, 2019 He can't pitch to the #9 hitter? Is his arm gonna fall off or something? Too many pitches could have consequences going forward, and no guarantee he will get another out tonight.
tvagle Verified Member Posted July 21, 2019 Posted July 21, 2019 Two deuces in the dirt and and a blooper to Right and were all tied up Tom better fire up the Microwave and try some relish tonight
Hosken Bombo Disco Community Moderator Posted July 21, 2019 Posted July 21, 2019 How about a 12-out save from Rogers? Shirley, you jest.
h2oface Old-Timey Member Posted July 21, 2019 Posted July 21, 2019 We have a lot, a lot, a LOT of discussion threads on this topic. If you want a discussion on this, that might be a better place for it, rather than in the midst of a game and game thread. Just curious...... how is talk about baseball, any baseball, regardless of how much it has been discussed, not appropriate for a game thread, but color of words and talk about shoes, is?
PDX Twin Verified Member Posted July 21, 2019 Posted July 21, 2019 Shirley, you jest. Shirley's next door. Shall I go and ask?

Mill1634 Verified Member Posted July 21, 2019 Posted July 21, 2019 Very nice work by Duffey. Offense MUST add runs on to a very average left hander who we haven't made work at all.
