Welp there it goes. Trevor May and his career 5.11 ERA regressing to the mean. Honestly this guy has been hyped unreasonably from the very start of his career. Mop up guy at best!

Geez, I was so hoping that May would be effective this season.

 

If it's any consolation, the Twins' aversion to payroll spending means that there's virtually no way he'll run out of chances because he's replaced by someone better from outside the organization.

So... we have two relievers you can trust in high leverage situations, and not much else other than a few overachieving mop-up arms (Harper/Magill/Morin). May is so volatile, he'll either strike out the side or throw a bunch of walks and get burned, and Hildenberger became Hindenberger. If injury strikes Parker or Rogers, this bullpen is going to go up in flames. Reinforcements, please!

 

And I'm not worried at all about the lack of offense today. Can't win 'em all, especially with some key guys on the DL. Arraez looks pretty good for a guy who's barely played in AAA.

are you predicting another roster move involving a Trevor? I don’t believe May has options, and may be able to decline optional assignment with greater than 4 years service time.
