How is Arraez not a higher rated prospect? He's hit for a high average at every level and walks as much as he strikes out. He also seems at least decent in the field and can play 2B, 3B, and in an emergency SS.

Arraez skipped over 5 Twins middle infield prospects to arrive here and he looks pretty snappily good.

I would guess that the main reasons are that A: he doesn't have much power and B: he's only defensively average at 2B and not great at the other spots (though don't quote me on that). He can flat-out hit, so yeah, he probably should have been rated higher. Gordon's been ranked higher because of the projections of him as a stronger hitter and being able to play SS... but clearly Arraez has passed him up.

 

If he develops some power, look out! He's going to be a MLB starter sooner than later in that case.

Probably due to him not having a ton of power. He's well liked though by most of us that follows the minors. A player like him should still be very useful.

The guy who is leading the American League in average, bunts in the perfect situation for a bunt and gets a single,,,then another Mariner error allows a run to score and Polanco goes to second.. You gotta love that.
