IndianaTwin Verified Member Posted April 21, 2019 Posted April 21, 2019 My ribs and brisket are smoking and I'm lonely.* Somebody start a Game Thread. *By "my" ribs and brisket, I'm meaning the ones I pulled out of the freezer. Not that I crawled into the smoker. I wouldn't fit. Game started 10 minutes ago and the Twins are up 2-0. Lineups to come.

Nine of twelve Verified Member Posted April 21, 2019 Posted April 21, 2019 Nice breaking pitch from Gibson to end that inning. Now please pitch like that for about 6 more innings and we should be good.
Nine of twelve Verified Member Posted April 21, 2019 Posted April 21, 2019 Jim Kaat talking about game two of the '65 series. I was there.
Channing1964 Verified Member Posted April 21, 2019 Posted April 21, 2019 man i am excited about these guys!
Aggies7 Old-Timey Member Posted April 21, 2019 Posted April 21, 2019 I’m excited but man the orioles pitching stinks
IndianaTwin Verified Member Posted April 21, 2019 Author Posted April 21, 2019 Dear Mr. Manfred, May we play the Orioles more often? Sincerely,IT
Mill1634 Verified Member Posted April 21, 2019 Posted April 21, 2019 Adrianza is the only position player on the roster i have ZERO confidence in at the plate. I think he goes when we call up another pitcher or Sano
bighat Verified Member Posted April 21, 2019 Posted April 21, 2019 C'mon Gibby, get it together man. It's like a broken record with this guy. Odorizzi, Pineda, Berrios, even Perez have had at least a strong start or two. Gibby's the worst of the bunch so far, and that's not saying much.
snotboogie Verified Member Posted April 21, 2019 Posted April 21, 2019 Nothing but doubles for Buck. Byron Buxton I christen thee Double B.
Mill1634 Verified Member Posted April 21, 2019 Posted April 21, 2019 Buxton just tagged from 2nd to 3rd and 3rd to home on two outs that the outfielders came in on. Absolute cheat code.
Nine of twelve Verified Member Posted April 21, 2019 Posted April 21, 2019 Dear Mr. Manfred, May we play the Orioles more often? Sincerely,ITNot a bad thought, but if we make the schedule less unbalanced to play them more, it would mean playing AL East and AL West teams more and AL Central teams (think KC, Whities, and Detroit) less. So I think we're good as is.
LaBombo Verified Member Posted April 21, 2019 Posted April 21, 2019 Buxton just tagged from 2nd to 3rd and 3rd to home on two outs that the outfielders came in on. Absolute cheat code. Ok, but I hope their cybermetric computing machine didn't catch a virus when they downloaded it.
LaBombo Verified Member Posted April 21, 2019 Posted April 21, 2019 Gibson not inspiring confidence The thing about New Gibson is that he doesn't inspire that much confidence even when he's relatively on his game. He sort of forces you to remind yourself that he's figured out how to get the most out of his less-than-OMG stuff. That being said... Yeah, nearly 90 pitches with 1 out in the 4th is starting to look like Old Gibson.

glunn Community Moderator Posted April 21, 2019 Posted April 21, 2019 This is a another game where the Twins should get a lot of insurance runs. This is another inning where that seems possible.

one_eyed_jack Verified Member Posted April 21, 2019 Posted April 21, 2019 Jim Kaat talking about game two of the '65 series. I was there. That must have been something. Wish I could have seen a game at the Met. Jim Kaat's career was really something. Not many pitchers who can say they faced both Ted Williams and Darryl Strawberry during their major league tenure.

glunn Community Moderator Posted April 21, 2019 Posted April 21, 2019 Nice play by Astudillo. He seems very solid behind the plate.
bighat Verified Member Posted April 21, 2019 Posted April 21, 2019 Gibby with 6 in the books. Didn't think I'd see that today, my apologies to Mr. Gibson.
Aggies7 Old-Timey Member Posted April 21, 2019 Posted April 21, 2019 He got us 6 innings. Gotta be pleased with that.
snotboogie Verified Member Posted April 21, 2019 Posted April 21, 2019 He got us 6 innings. Gotta be pleased with that. And he was better in the 5th and 6th than he was in the 4th.
