What we know so far:

 

The offense is good, and will get better, especially once Sano gets back. Marwin seems to be the only guy on the team that we should be legitimately concerned about, offensively.

 

Pitching is a huge problem, this team could be looking a lot like the Texas Rangers pretty soon with lots of losses with scores like 12-8.

 

The two biggest MLB players still available are pitchers. The ghosts of Keuchel and Kimbrel are going to haunt the Twins every time there's a bad pitching performance, fair or not.

Why does a manager not pinch hit Garver for Cron or Gonzales in this situation?

 

Because Baldelli doesn't want to blatantly disrespect either guy and wants to get them at bats. Both of them are kinda struggling, but both have hit HRs in this series and Rocco wants to keep giving them plate appearances.

It feels like Twins pitching is terrible and Twins hitting is fine.

The quickest path for the Twins to improve is for them to hit better, even if our senses tell us differently.

Pro tip....

 

Never assume the circuit breaker is off.....

It probably didn't take many seconds for the equipment to rectify this problem on its own.

Umm, Twins just play 16 games, that's why in the bottom half. They are top 5 in wRC+.

Total numbers of anything at this point are pretty deceptive. The Twins have played fewer games than any other AL team.

They have several fewer games than other teams, so counting stats may tell you less than rate stats for a while yet.

 

R/G scored is 3rd in the AL.

 

R/G against isn't terrible either, at 7th in the league.

 

I'll take improvement anywhere it is provided, though.

I started at 84 wins, but that was based on winning three of these ... I didn't expect a sweep in KC, so I'm down to 83 wins ... Probably not enough for a WC game

Not an overreaction...those warts were there when they were winning games too
