bighat Verified Member Posted April 10, 2019 Posted April 10, 2019 Prototype NL run! A sac fly or a ground out would have arguably been more prototypical. But it still followed the same premise: Get 'em on, get 'em over, get 'em in!!! Way to go Max.
IndianaTwin Verified Member Posted April 10, 2019 Posted April 10, 2019 I don’t want to say that I am not a Gladden fan but he still hasn’t told me whether Buxton scored on Kepler’s single.
Hosken Bombo Disco Community Moderator Posted April 10, 2019 Posted April 10, 2019 Wow, that looked like strike three to the turtle
PseudoSABR Verified Member Posted April 10, 2019 Posted April 10, 2019 I still like running Kepler there with Astudillo at bat, as Morneau said, worse case scenario Astudillo will bat next inning, and likely to a pitcher other than Degrom

Blake Verified Member Posted April 10, 2019 Author Posted April 10, 2019 Yeah, it's him or Adrianza, and so that's a pretty easy choice. You're pulling for Adrianza too?
Blake Verified Member Posted April 10, 2019 Author Posted April 10, 2019 Wow, that looked like strike three to the turtleUmp may be squeezing the zone a bit.
drock2190 Verified Member Posted April 10, 2019 Posted April 10, 2019 Every at bat that Astudillo has with two strikes, I think surely this must be the time he will strike out. The odds say he has too eventually. But then he manages to put it in play.
IndianaTwin Verified Member Posted April 10, 2019 Posted April 10, 2019 I'll break the bad news then...he was stranded there. Sure wish he was a little quicker.
Mr. Brooks Verified Member Posted April 10, 2019 Posted April 10, 2019 You could go Cron-Gonzalez-Polanco-Astudillo around the infield for a game or two, with Schoop not really doing much yet. Just my opinion.. And as I type, I think we’ve seen our last game with Astudillo at first.I think they signed him to be the every second baseman. And if they did, I just don't think a handful of games should be enough to change that. He isn't going to start hitting from the bench. In general, I'd like to see 6 weeks or so before we start evaluating performance.
DiscGolfer Verified Member Posted April 10, 2019 Posted April 10, 2019 Before the game I was thinking if they could get 1 run tonight it would be a moral victory.
Hosken Bombo Disco Community Moderator Posted April 10, 2019 Posted April 10, 2019 Gibby looks like he’s toast. Be interesting to see what Baldelli does with this.
nicksaviking Community Moderator Posted April 10, 2019 Posted April 10, 2019 Geez, Astudillo would have to hit four home runs every game to make up for his deficiencies as a 1B.I think that math might be wrong.
wsnydes Old-Timey Member Posted April 10, 2019 Posted April 10, 2019 Sure wish he was a little quicker. Those plodding oaf CF'ers are the worst.
wsnydes Old-Timey Member Posted April 10, 2019 Posted April 10, 2019 I think that math might be wrong.Close enough. Trust me, I estimate for a living.

But with Astudillo making such good contact, and Schoop not doing that, I am seeing an opportunity for a better lineup at least for the moment. And i’d like to see Cruz get at bat(s) in a funny week like this.
wsnydes Old-Timey Member Posted April 10, 2019 Posted April 10, 2019 Speaking of plodding oafs playing CF, Billy Hamilton just scored from 2B on a sac fly.
IndianaTwin Verified Member Posted April 10, 2019 Posted April 10, 2019 Gurriel stole home for the Blue Jays. He’s on pace to beat Carew’s record.

bighat Verified Member Posted April 10, 2019 Posted April 10, 2019 Gibson just constantly in trouble tonight.
Hosken Bombo Disco Community Moderator Posted April 10, 2019 Posted April 10, 2019 Not exactly “soft contact” off of Gibby, there
mrtwinsfan Old-Timey Member Posted April 10, 2019 Posted April 10, 2019 Rocco -Gibbys back to Nibby - hope he gets thru 5th
PDX Twin Verified Member Posted April 10, 2019 Posted April 10, 2019 Awful AB by Schoop. This is a great game for the Twins - but it might be worth mentioning that he doesn't appear to be the player the Twins thought they were getting. Cheer up! We could have had Cano and only be paying ~$20m for the next few years of non-production.
Hosken Bombo Disco Community Moderator Posted April 10, 2019 Posted April 10, 2019 How many mound conferences is that? Twins must be running out of those.
Hosken Bombo Disco Community Moderator Posted April 10, 2019 Posted April 10, 2019 Just pull him already
wsnydes Old-Timey Member Posted April 10, 2019 Posted April 10, 2019 Gibby nowhere near the zone right now.
