The older daughter dropped off a pair of Saturday Night Specials for me to repair. I told her if I can't fix them I will use them for ramps to drive the vehicles unto for oil changes, etc.

Last time I saw a pair of purple shoes like that the guy wearing them was also wearing a purple fedora with a large white feather in the head band; asked me if I was looking for a good time. I told him I already had my Twins tickets.

In other words, you were still in the market for a good time?

Hah! Seriously, story from the sixties: A guy in an orange shirt, purple suede pants and an afro robbed a store, ran outside and disappeared into the crowd...Did I mention this robbery took place in San Francisco?

This 4 game series to close out May/Open up June is suddenly a very important series. There is no margin for error. If there is any hope at salvaging this season, it rests on the Twins' shoulders the next four days. A series loss buries the Twins too far to really expect them to climb out, in all likelihood. A series win could help jumpstart the Twins who desperately need a shot in the arm. 

 

As I said yesterday, these games almost have to be treated like playoff games. Have to show up. Pressure is on. Let's hope our Twinkies are up to the task.

What a beautiful night for baseball! Hopefully the home team doesn't ruin it.

 

I'm interested to see what the attendance will be like. It's a good night for walk up sales.

I was also recalling Achilles repeating to himself "the 6th patriarch is Zeno".

 

I guess i have to read further to find out which he, the Tortoise, and Hofstadter were referring to...

So I am going to Minny for Fri-Sun Indians series and, like every time I travel and pay a bunch of money to see ballgames (flight, hotel, tickets), rain is forecast. In this case, for two of the three days.
