Here's a rabbit trail question -- who wants to represent the Greater Twin Cities Area Chamber of Commerce and offer a few suggestions of things to do while up there for a few days in early June?

  • Not art museum people, but do enjoy architecture.
  • Work's been pretty hectic and my school-teacher wife just finished her year, so good walking trails for a couple 50-year-olds or good places to sit and enjoy a good book wouldn't be a bad thing
  • Not averse to driving an hour or so outside the city, particularly if the drive is scenic.
  • Barbecue, seafood, Mexican, Italian, burgers, pizza

(I mean, besides Target Field, of course.)

Very interesting how Odorizzi started Nelson Cruz off with the 3 straight change ups.

Is that like pealing out? Accerating with your break on, so as to leave a black streak on the pavement?

Style, i say!

I always thought the mansions on Summit Ave were cool.

Memo to Dick Bremer: don't wear that suit jacket in front of the camera any more.

Hah. Reminds me of when I lived in Stillwater, OK in the seventies. The local weatherman and anchorman appeared to be having a contest to see who could wear the loudest suit. This was during the seventies, mind you, when platforms and plaids were in.

I don't know about the rest, but I think the action on the filed is so intense I don't have time to type...

I really like Minnehaha falls. Seasalt eatery is there, for dining. The falls are great if we’ve had any rain lately.

I was gonna recommend the Architecture Art Museum but that might be too polar for your tastes.  :)

I've always liked the drive to Red Wing. You should be able to find some good hiking trails to walk and shopping in town. You can enjoy a book hanging by the River or Lake Pepin.

For food I will always recommend the Iconic Food of the area for the true experience. That Would be White Castles.  :go:

Seriously tho, If you are in Minneapolis... you must have the Juicy Lucy at Matt's Bar. You should also try the Mason Jar in Eagan. They have a hotdish menu for the true Minnesota experience.

It's official, the Twins have the most anemic and boring to watch offense in the MLB.

That should come with an award or some sort of recognition.

They are hibernating. They'll wake up.

Not gonna guess when, tho

Bears normally wake up in sping.... It's the going to sleep this early that's the problem :(

A nice walnut plaque with "Second Place AL Central."

I wonder if the proliferation of shifts will soon make large slugging 3B a dinasaur? They will need more athletic and versatile players. I know someon who would agree. :)

Man, it's hard to believe our offense is so bad we're getting crushed for the second time by journeyman Wade LeBlanc. You'd think they'd make some sort of adjustment at the plate...

Just got in from moving family all day and I see our offense is still pathetic. Dang. LeBlanc is a soft tossing lefty and we haven’t hit him either time we’ve seen him this month.

Can we bring up Kiriloff Lewis Gordon Wade and Rooker RIGHT NOW and boot any pick 5 players not named Kepler or Rosario out of the lineup? Haha, asking for a friend... It'd at least make for a lineup that wouldn't put people to sleep.

*Sidenote: How would you like to be one of our starting pitchers knowing if you give up more than a run there's a very good chance you'll take the loss on your record. And on the flip, knowing you could go 6-7 scoreless innings and not earn the W.

I called Lavine and asked him your question and he said "No".

Here is my advice for our hitters:

William H. “Wee Willie” Keeler was one of the smallest players ever in major league baseball at 5’4”, 140 pounds, but he had one of the biggest bats in the game, both figuratively and literally, weighing up to 46 ounces.

His motto was, “Keep your eye on the ball and hit ‘em where they ain’t,” and it certainly worked for the third baseman-turned-outfielder. Keeler had 13 straight seasons in which he batted over .300 and he reached the mark in 16 of the 19 years he played. He had a lifetime average of .345 and for seven straight seasons he also had an on-base percentage that was above .400.
