nice- Petit

The ball did not even come off of the ground for a second bounce. I don't blame him.

you'd think if the front office is scouring for utility guys in the offseason, they would sign guys who can field reliably. Adrianza and Petit apparently can't.

Adrianza is one of the league's better defensive infielders... I'm not sure what you mean by that.

The Ole Drop the Ball and throw him out at third trick.

Below average receiving + Good throwing arm = throw out runners who advance on your mistakes, apparently.

Oops, forgot about the no math rule...

Screw the negativity -- this pitching staff is terrible with the exception of just 2 guys

One bad inning does not make Odorizzi a bad pitcher.

Learned about this in Pyschology class in college.

Alien hand syndrome (AHS) or Dr. Strangelove syndrome is a condition in which a person experiences their limbs acting seemingly on their own, without control over the actions. The term is used for a variety of clinical conditions and most commonly affects the left hand.

seems like an overreaction, but I'm just a blogger on the internet :)

Can't blame him... Two Run Home Runs are pretty rare in baseball.

I absolutely knew with certainty before it happened that Molitor would wait until the lead was gone before pulling Odorizzi. You could see him losing confidence and command as that inning unfolded. Yet you let him walk the go ahead run on, then give up a HR after falling behind. He’s lucky it wasn’t a three run HR instead of two.

The problem is the Twins scoring 2 and then giving up 3 the next half inning is kind of common.

How is it that he can pitch so well thru 5 innings and then all of a sudden, the offense scratches together a couple of runs and he spins out of control in turn 4?  With the exception of Berrios and Romero, it's like none of these other starters can get thru 6 or 7 consistently.

Not sure Pressly was tuned yet.

Duke was the guy who got up after the leadoff homer. He was probably trying to get through the Righties with Odorizzi.

Third time through the batting order.

You won't be able to stop the trend... It's becoming a bullpen game. Paul is still fighting it a little.

I think Odorizzi should be treated like a reliever. Give him his innings,(5) regardless of pitch count, hits or runs allowed.

Maybe or maybe it just seems that way.

Nobody remembers the times it went the way it was supposed to which leaves the times it doesn't to stack up.

i think once managers figure this out, you will never, ever see any starter face the leadoff man the third time.

18 batters and done, all starters pulled at the leadoff guy, every time

Who pitched for Rochester tonight? I see a 0 for Buffalo on the crawl.

That guy Rain Delay is usually the one pitching a shut out.

Is that a French name?

its a valid point because Odorizzi runs high pitch counts, but the hardest job of a manager is when to pull the starter

They already have. That's why the Super Pens are being built. It's why Cash of the Rays started Romo Twice last week.

It's just that they still haven't let go of the way things were while getting the new data thrown at them.

Except Odorizzi was showing zero signs of trouble thru his 5 innings so there would have been no reason to take him out of the game when the 3rd time came around.

Well there are people above the manager who could tell him that the decision is not his to make.
