Can we bring up Kiriloff Lewis Gordon Wade and Rooker RIGHT NOW and boot any pick 5 players not named Kepler or Rosario out of the lineup? Haha, asking for a friend... It'd at least make for a lineup that wouldn't put people to sleep.

*Sidenote: How would you like to be one of our starting pitchers knowing if you give up more than a run there's a very good chance you'll take the loss on your record. And on the flip, knowing you could go 6-7 scoreless innings and not earn the W.

Bringing up Kiriloff and Lewis just because the offense in the majors stinks is a bad idea... Rushing guys is never a good idea, and I think they'd do pretty terribly if you just threw them into the major league lineup. Gordon and Wade are pretty close to ready so I think that would be a fine idea.

Remember when we brought up Hicks from AA when we needed a starting CF? Didn't work out so well. Bringing up Buxton from AA? Didn't light up the lineup like we thought he would. Lewis would probably be even worse - he's 18 years old and at low A!

Just checking in...are we still going with the “we ran up against one of the top pitchers in baseball” gag or?????

Might be Twins fans are expecting more from this team than they have to give. They only won 85 games last year while playing in the AL Central not the best competition. They were 34-23 against the KC, DET and Chi. 51-54 against the other teams. Maybe this is what they really are.

Here is my advice for our hitters:

William H. “Wee Willie” Keeler was one of the smallest players ever in major league baseball at 5’4”, 140 pounds, but he had one of the biggest bats in the game, both figuratively and literally, weighing up to 46 ounces.

His motto was, “Keep your eye on the ball and hit ‘em where they ain’t,” and it certainly worked for the third baseman-turned-outfielder. Keeler had 13 straight seasons in which he batted over .300 and he reached the mark in 16 of the 19 years he played. He had a lifetime average of .345 and for seven straight seasons he also had an on-base percentage that was above .400.

I would have hated the nickname "Wee Willie"

I agree for the most part. Just never thought the offense would be SO bad for so long. Thought our problems would be moreso on the pitching side

Naw... Tonight it's going up against a pitcher that recently figured it out.

What would you have wanted instead? I don't dare say a name because I don't a message telling me that I was naughty.

I was 100% joking, I agree with ya. Even as painful as this is to watch I'm not even sure I'd bring up Wade or Gordon quite yet although they are going to be knocking on the door very very soon (like within the next few months).

To play devils advocate though, the Braves are bringing the young guys up and fast tracking with a lot of success right now. Additionally, the Red Sox brought Devers, Bogaerts, Mookie, and Benintendi up as 20-21 y/o's and that hasn't seemed to affect their young careers thus far. So I guess it can't be said for certain that its a bad idea. (Although again, I agree with you in that Lewis/AK are at least 14-24 months out still)

I wonder if Odorizzi is doomed to always go six innings and give up one solo HR. Maybe 'doomed' is the wrong word because that's still a good start.
