jimmer Verified Member Posted September 13, 2017 Posted September 13, 2017 It was also a 2-0 game. Why leave Gibby in during a blowout like this?Plus it's Kluber.

Blake Verified Member Posted September 13, 2017 Posted September 13, 2017 Ell. Oh. Ell.Meanwhile, the little fact that Gibson pitched 6 shutout innings will be lost. I really hope this means Gibson has turned the corner. He's turned in some dandy starts the last few times out. Dozier's Glorious Hair, PDX Twin, spinowner and 2 others 5
LaBombo Verified Member Posted September 13, 2017 Posted September 13, 2017 So I was on the way home with the game on and the sound turned down so that I could see the score on the station crawl but have it quiet in the car so the voices in my head could talk to each other. Have the Padres been pitching, or are the Twins using a batting tee? Circus Boy and ashbury 2

h2oface Old-Timey Member Posted September 13, 2017 Posted September 13, 2017 This is the same Padres that just took 2 of 3 from Arizona, and swept the Dodgers, who swept us..... but then, everyone is sweeping them now.
Shaitan Verified Member Posted September 13, 2017 Posted September 13, 2017 Gibby is in serious danger of lowering his ERA below 5 for the year. For a while, I though Gibson, Pressley, and Colon all had a shot at that feat.

yarnivek1972 Verified Member Posted September 13, 2017 Posted September 13, 2017 Does anyone know if Moya is in uniform tonight? If so, I'd have to think he would pitch the 9th.

ashbury Verified Member Posted September 13, 2017 Posted September 13, 2017 Does anyone know if Moya is in uniform tonight? If so, I'd have to think he would pitch the 9th.I will be surprised. My memory is that Molitor likes to ease rookies into the major league environment. With expanded rosters, there is no rush to provide respite for the rest of the bullpen, and I expect Moya will be allowed to look around his new environment for a couple days before being asked to take part. They keep track of these things, so someone can and probably will check whether I'm just imagining things. But I think Granite for instance was handled this way.
sampleSizeOfOne Verified Member Posted September 13, 2017 Posted September 13, 2017 If you win 20 in a row in September you're guaranteed a WS championship. -Dave Cameron.Didn't the Rockies do something like that and not win it all? Or was some of their 20ish wins to end the season that year in October?
