I will be surprised. My memory is that Molitor likes to ease rookies into the major league environment. With expanded rosters, there is no rush to provide respite for the rest of the bullpen, and I expect Moya will be allowed to look around his new environment for a couple days before being asked to take part.

 

They keep track of these things, so someone can and probably will check whether I'm just imagining things. But I think Granite for instance was handled this way.

I'd think it's more calming to get a player in right away than to have him sit anxiously for a week waiting for the experience.

They play the Giants and Padres 38 times this year.

 And we play the White Sox and Tigers 38 times a year (almost equal won-loss records as the Giants and Padres) and are only 5 games above .500 and the Diamondbacks are 22. So what's your point? That this means nothing? Mybe not, but it is to our credit that we beat the Diamondbacks, who just swept the Dodgers, twice. I certainly to not underestimate the Diamondbacks, at this point, and the Padres have been doing OK lately, and it is again to the Twins credit that they are pouncing on this team. And....... I remember the KC series with the 17-0 win in the middle of two losses.

The 2002 A's won 20 in a row and you saw how that worked out for them.  I think AJ's bat is still flipping.

Then all of those wins weren't in October. There's usually no more than 3 regular season games in October. Win all those and 12 more and you will have swept the playoffs. Even with the current 1-3-4-4 format.
