DocBauer Old-Timey Member Posted August 31, 2017 Posted August 31, 2017 I've noticed a couple good stops on pitches in the dirt.Another One. Think we're going to be OK at catcher for the next few years. All due respect to Giminez
Aggies7 Old-Timey Member Posted August 31, 2017 Posted August 31, 2017 I'm sure there's some nerd stat to obliterate what I said, but I stand by it. He's saved lots of runs and big innings (and low throws) all year.
ashbury Verified Member Posted August 31, 2017 Posted August 31, 2017 It is such a welcome, if unfamiliar, feeling to have a pitcher who can rare back for a little something extra when in a tight spot.
DocBauer Old-Timey Member Posted August 31, 2017 Posted August 31, 2017 Smalley does love to talk...as do I so maybe that's why I like him, lol...but he is smart in what he says. He breaks things down really well, IMO

twinsnorth49 Old-Timey Member Posted August 31, 2017 Posted August 31, 2017 The high heater with 2 strikes to sit guys down ......a thing of beauty.
Puckett34 Verified Member Posted August 31, 2017 Posted August 31, 2017 My thoughts whenever Berrios finishes off an inning like that.... http://i.imgur.com/edBQBeJ.gif
ashbury Verified Member Posted August 31, 2017 Posted August 31, 2017 I live in Santa Fe, New Mexico. It's about a 5-6 hour drive from Denver and a 7-8 hour drive to Phoenix. We get the Rockies games as part of our Direct TV package. However, MLB.TV considers us to be part of both the Rockies and Diamondbacks territory. So I was unable to watch any of the series against the D-Backs, which happened to be probably the most entertaining series of the year. These blackout rules make absolutely no sense.Does your local cable provider offer packages involving Rockies and D-Backs games? If so, there's your answer. (I agree, it's arcane and often counterproductive.)

DocBauer Old-Timey Member Posted August 31, 2017 Posted August 31, 2017 Is attempted decapitation a fineable offense?

But I bet if you showed Joe your comment, he'd say, "don't embarrass me with that kind of comparison."

yarnivek1972 Verified Member Posted August 31, 2017 Posted August 31, 2017 Just was looking at the screen and noticed Holland's name over Dozier's and chuckled a bit. Those who are fans of sixties and seventies Motown music will remember the names Holland and Dozier as songwriters and producers for groups such as the Supremes, the Jacksons and others. The things that enter my brain at times...
ashbury Verified Member Posted August 31, 2017 Posted August 31, 2017 Also, I think my pregnant, 2 days overdue wife, could beat Vargas in a footrace. Then Kennys better be extra cautious if hiking in bear country with your family.

TwinsCD Verified Member Posted August 31, 2017 Posted August 31, 2017 It's to the point where I don't bother expecting to score when the Twins load the bases.

Ah.... so fitness (and therefore appropriate weight) are important. I certainly hope so. Berrios is possessed and driven, and his actions speak louder than words.
yarnivek1972 Verified Member Posted August 31, 2017 Posted August 31, 2017 Was he out of the box on that? That's illegal.
