Mike Sixel Old-Timey Member Posted August 17, 2017 Posted August 17, 2017 He showed bunt...but he didn't actually bunt so....so he wasn't bunting! Showing bunt there didn't make any sense either though. Swing away man! If I am the FO, I call the dugout and ask the manager what happened there......because if he's bunting, seriously. Ugh.
AlwaysinModeration Verified Member Posted August 17, 2017 Posted August 17, 2017 First and second, none out, the minimum they had to do was get enough pitches to make Carrasco not come out for the 6th. That's what really hurt about then Polanco pick off.
big dog Verified Member Posted August 17, 2017 Posted August 17, 2017 Theoretical question:Let's say the Twins option Gibson down today. Could he be brought up as the 26th man Monday? At this point I really don't care that he would be on short rest. He can be worked until his arm falls off for as poorly as he has pitched this year. He's fortunate that this organization is so pitching poor they HAVE to keep him around.I think if the question were "should he be brought up as the 26th man", the answer would be AAAAAAUUUUGGGGGGHHHH NONONONONONO! so I don't care if he technically could. Just my opinion, of course.

It's gotten to that point for me too. After three bunts through 3 innings the other day, I can't rule out the possibility.
Aggies7 Old-Timey Member Posted August 17, 2017 Posted August 17, 2017 Miguel may obliterate the all time record at this rate
sampleSizeOfOne Verified Member Posted August 17, 2017 Author Posted August 17, 2017 We made it to the bottom half of the line up. We got 'em where we want 'em!
snap4birds Verified Member Posted August 17, 2017 Posted August 17, 2017 I think it would give us a mental break, too. Plus it would reduce the chance he strikes out 250 times this season. Both good things. And it would give Judge a chance to catch up to Sano in the strikeout 'race'...kind of like sitting out the last game of the season to protect a batting title. Only in reverse, sort of...
sampleSizeOfOne Verified Member Posted August 17, 2017 Author Posted August 17, 2017 So is today a dog day of August?
h2oface Old-Timey Member Posted August 17, 2017 Posted August 17, 2017 I read Sano has been showing up early and is first to the plate in BP and working off the tee and just obliterating the ball. He hasn't struck out once off the tee.

Just my opinion, of course.Just for the record, I wouldn't have him starting either game. He'd be the long man. Gonsalves and maybe Gee to start if he isn't extended too far today. 70ish pitches today and Gee should be good.
AlwaysinModeration Verified Member Posted August 17, 2017 Posted August 17, 2017 Mission accomplished. Shaw came out for the 6th.I'm not sure why he didn't come out for the 6th, but it didn't really help...

Cap'n Piranha Verified Member Posted August 17, 2017 Posted August 17, 2017 I heard the same thing, so if one of us is crazy so is the other. I'm not sure that helps us, does it? In a world where everyone is crazy, no one is.
h2oface Old-Timey Member Posted August 17, 2017 Posted August 17, 2017 I do not like this pitching move at this point in the inning.

Cap'n Piranha Verified Member Posted August 17, 2017 Posted August 17, 2017 Damn, Buxton is turning into a real game changer.
sampleSizeOfOne Verified Member Posted August 17, 2017 Author Posted August 17, 2017 You know, usually they tell runners to watch what the runner ahead of them does...
big dog Verified Member Posted August 17, 2017 Posted August 17, 2017 Let's go Castro clap clap clap-clap-clap
h2oface Old-Timey Member Posted August 17, 2017 Posted August 17, 2017 Has Buxton not learned to look at the third base coach when rounding 2nd?
USAFChief Twins Daily Contributor Posted August 17, 2017 Posted August 17, 2017 Oh FFS, Castro...two pitches to put in play and you swing through both of them?
h2oface Old-Timey Member Posted August 17, 2017 Posted August 17, 2017 SOMEBODY BUT THE BALL IN PLAY!
Jerr Verified Member Posted August 17, 2017 Posted August 17, 2017 Come on lets get some runs and not whimper out here!!!!!!!
Aggies7 Old-Timey Member Posted August 17, 2017 Posted August 17, 2017 No bullpen and sucky situational hitting. that's how this year should be remembered
