Yeah, late, haven't read all the comments so I'm going to ask: Am I the only one who wasn't really worried when the Tigres went up by 5 in the first?

From what I was reading early on in the thread, possibly.

By the way, can anyone on the Tigers run any more? Other than Kinsler? Some of the guys they've got out there look a bit gimpy.

D-d-dang, Sano fired that into the ground on purpose, didn't he? Three great defensive plays in a row. This is how good teams play.

Mauer! I was already cussing that one falling in a hole. Mauer actually found another gear for a few steps, then re-grabbed that ball. What  an athlete.

 

I'm not sure Mauer's defense completely makes up for his offensive lackings (notwithstanding the last couple of games), but man, we would not be where we are at without it. I don't know what the stats say, but I don't think there currently is a better 1st baseman, defensively speaking.

Dylan Gee is really impressing me. This doesn't look like a washed up pitcher at all. 

I hope I don't jinx him, but he's been a godsend to this bullpen, being able to go multiple innings. Looks really good.

If Gold Gloves were what they are supposed to be he'd be a very strong candidate.

You know, Falvey was quoted as saying something along the lines of doing things to inspire a team to do better.

 

Falvey traded some peripheral pieces and the Twins are looking at a 7 game winning streak.

 

Thins that make you say "Hmmm" for $100, Alex.

Second best OPS on the team.

 

I've considered him a 4th OF candidate until recently, but he has really been a dangerous hitter for most of this season.   

I have no facts to back this up (I'm sure someone could look it up and see if I'm right or wrong)  but it seems the last couple of months he is swinging a fewer balls out of the zone and getting into better hitter's counts.

And don't look now, but he's one swing away from passing Sano in SLG, too.
