This offense has been unbelievable in the past week. Now, if only they could have shown up when I saw them face the Rangers and Cole Hamels...

You can make quite a list--Polanco, Buxton, Mauer, Belisle-who some have called for being taken off the roster. It's a long season.

Don't forget Molitor, and Molitor, and Molitor. He's been gone, fired, and executed in the public square several times this season. I myself condemned Belisle to an untimely demise. Even today I was calling for Sano to be benched!

Buxton's BA reaches .231. I'm liking the trend.

And hitting .260 since starting the season 2 for 49.  Not lighting the world on fire, but it's an improvement.

What I really like about the offense lately, it's not just a big inning, and then zeros.  They have been putting pressure on teams in multiple innings.  That's the way to play offense.

Mujica's best pitch is a sneaky 2-seamer that starts out of the zone, then bends arm-side about a foot. However, just like Kyle Gibson's 2-seamer, it's not actually very hard to hit because it sits up in the zone. Both guys want the hitter to give up on the pitch, but if they swing at it, they'll drill a line drive.

Yeah, late, haven't read all the comments so I'm going to ask: Am I the only one who wasn't really worried when the Tigres went up by 5 in the first?

Mauer! I was already cussing that one falling in a hole. Mauer actually found another gear for a few steps, then re-grabbed that ball. What  an athlete.

Rosario is slugging .503 for the season now.   :)

Second best OPS on the team.

 

I've considered him a 4th OF candidate until recently, but he has really been a dangerous hitter for most of this season.

And then Eddie does the same thing. Good defense!!

 

...and don't think the pitchers don't notice how these guys are busting a gut to catch those balls. Huge boost for pitcher morale.
