70charger Verified Member Posted June 17, 2017 Posted June 17, 2017 Turley is still under 60 pitches and seems to have hit a groove. He might go 7. That would be huge. I read this comment, checked the inning, and thought "huh, this really isn't so bad." I think I jinxed it, guys. Riverbrian and LaBombo 2

yarnivek1972 Verified Member Posted June 17, 2017 Posted June 17, 2017 Damn. Not sure what to think about Turley. He lacks movement on his pitches. Hard to figure out how that explains his K per 9 in AAA. The Indians are just teeing off on him. glunn 1
h2oface Old-Timey Member Posted June 17, 2017 Posted June 17, 2017 It is like they just decide to throw away some of these games. Like they don't even care. Turley. What a joke.

magiklair Provisional Member Posted June 17, 2017 Posted June 17, 2017 Are we (Riverbrian Edit) done with these career minor leaguers? I mean, if you want to lose the game. We certainly know how to do it.. Bring up the young prospects. You can't do any worse.. jimmer 1

h2oface Old-Timey Member Posted June 17, 2017 Posted June 17, 2017 (edited) Who would you have started? I would have made moves that gave this team more pitching. It really isn't a question of best decision for the day. And not career minor leaguers that can do well in AAA. Edited June 17, 2017 by h2oface

Darius Verified Member Posted June 17, 2017 Posted June 17, 2017 I'm not discarding them. The post I replied to said that it was OBVIOUS that Hughes should not have been in the rotation to start the season. He had a serviceable first month. So, how exactly was it obvious? PS: You have yet to respond to the rest of the post. What was the alternative? If you actually watched the games, it was obvious. The guy couldn't top 90, and was giving up laser beams all over the yard. He physically couldn't make it past 5 innings. Because he got very lucky, doesn't mean he was "serviceable." That's my opinion on the thing. It was clear he wasn't going to hold up. Feel free to disrespect that opinion all you want....but there were also others with very well respected opinions who said the same (Gleeman is one off the top of my head). h2oface, jimmer, Platoon and 1 other 4
h2oface Old-Timey Member Posted June 17, 2017 Posted June 17, 2017 It is even more demoralizing that the offense has mustered one hit, and seems to have given up, too.

jimmer Verified Member Posted June 17, 2017 Posted June 17, 2017 (edited) So it's okay for you to cherry pick after 5 starts, but not for me after 6?Gotcha.Still waiting to hear what the alternative was.You completely ignored that part of my post.In the post I last responded to, YOU Said 'He had a serviceable first month.' YOU picked the time frame. In the first month (April), he ONLY HAD FIVE STARTS. He didn't have six starts. So I looked at the stats from April (the first month). The alternative was to go get better pitching (and not count on a guy who is coming off injury and hasn't been good for years).I guess I thought that was obvious, but I didn't say it. You're right. DocBauer Old-Timey Member Posted June 17, 2017 Posted June 17, 2017 At a 6yo super hero birthday party in a power outage. Apparently too much super hero power in one place. My super hero name is "Turbo Shield". Late to the thread after checking my phone. Maybe Turley sucked the power out of Omaha?
twins_89 Verified Member Posted June 17, 2017 Posted June 17, 2017 Twins starting pitchers other than Santana and Berrios have a combined 6.14 ERA in 43 games (including tonight). I'm amazed that the team has been this competitive when 3/5 of the rotation has been so weak. Danchat and LaBombo 2
