Just remember that a lot of Astros fans felt that Houston made a mistake taking Correa over Buxton in 2012 and would have swapped them as recently as 2014. It's hard to see how players will turn out. Just because someone has received more press doesn't mean he'll be a better pro.

The Twins could pick up someone who fell in the 11th round or even later. Most late picks are filler, but until the draft is over we simply won't know the full picture.

Why not next year?  Advanced college hitters can move quickly through a system, though all don't succeed.   This is totally optimistic.

 

I hope he'll be ready shortly after Mauer leaves after 2018 (or Mauer stays at severely reduced salary and role).
