Otto von Ballpark Old-Timey Member Posted June 13, 2017 Posted June 13, 2017 Is the second round tonight?Yes. Tomorrow starts with round 3.
Willihammer Provisional Member Posted June 13, 2017 Posted June 13, 2017 Gotta be Carlson for the first pick in the second round, right? Not according to Doogie. Seems unlikely they would take him 37 and not 35 if they had a deal. Unless the Marlins were interested in Rooker maybe.
Hosken Bombo Disco Community Moderator Posted June 13, 2017 Posted June 13, 2017 So do they all take a potty break before the second round starts? Vanimal46 1
Vanimal46 Old-Timey Member Posted June 13, 2017 Posted June 13, 2017 Is the second round tonight?I'm wondering that myself... Just waiting for the commercials to end
Einstein1 Provisional Member Posted June 13, 2017 Posted June 13, 2017 Rooker reminds me a bit of Paul Goldschmidt, I'll take that. d-mac, Willihammer and nicksaviking 3

Mike Sixel Old-Timey Member Posted June 13, 2017 Posted June 13, 2017 Fake news.22, then? That better. He'll be in Minnesota at 25 or 26?
gunnarthor Old-Timey Member Posted June 13, 2017 Posted June 13, 2017 I wasn't as high on Rooker as others but I'm ok with him. But I really want a few pitchers. AZTwin, Dman and Vanimal46 3

AZTwin Verified Member Posted June 13, 2017 Posted June 13, 2017 If we don't draft Carlson, I wonder why he fell. It's got to be carlson

Is Doogie speculating or sourcing?I doubt he'd tweet it if he didn't know. The difference in slot is only $100k so probably not.
Guest Guests Posted June 13, 2017 Posted June 13, 2017 Just remember that a lot of Astros fans felt that Houston made a mistake taking Correa over Buxton in 2012 and would have swapped them as recently as 2014. It's hard to see how players will turn out. Just because someone has received more press doesn't mean he'll be a better pro.
Mike Sixel Old-Timey Member Posted June 13, 2017 Posted June 13, 2017 Draft over?Of course not, but to day there are 39 rounds left is silly, imo. There are about two or three rounds left that likely matter at all, if that many.
Willihammer Provisional Member Posted June 13, 2017 Posted June 13, 2017 Danner at 37? nicksaviking 1
Bob Sacamento Verified Member Posted June 13, 2017 Posted June 13, 2017 We're drafting a catcher or 3bMelendez is out there and so is Campunsano for prep catchers

There are about two or three rounds left that likely matter at all, if that many. The Twins could pick up someone who fell in the 11th round or even later. Most late picks are filler, but until the draft is over we simply won't know the full picture. howieramone2 1

PseudoSABR Verified Member Posted June 13, 2017 Posted June 13, 2017 22, then? That better. He'll be in Minnesota at 25 or 26?Why not next year? Advanced college hitters can move quickly through a system, though all don't succeed. This is totally optimistic. I hope he'll be ready shortly after Mauer leaves after 2018 (or Mauer stays at severely reduced salary and role). howieramone2 1
