LaBombo Verified Member Posted June 8, 2017 Posted June 8, 2017 Mejia may have been fortunate that Heredia didn't have the green light on that 3-0 get-me-over serve to Heredia.
glunn Community Moderator Posted June 8, 2017 Posted June 8, 2017 Nope. But it started out in Spanish. Not sure why or how that happens but got it switched back.I could live with Spanish over freezing.
amjgt Verified Member Posted June 8, 2017 Posted June 8, 2017 Can someone tell me why the required monthly test of the emergency broadcast system can't happen at 3:30am
David HK Verified Member Posted June 8, 2017 Posted June 8, 2017 Deadly combination, those two catchers at the bottom of the orderDon't give Molly any ideas....
Danchat Verified Member Posted June 8, 2017 Posted June 8, 2017 Can someone tell me why the required monthly test of the emergency broadcast system can't happen at 3:30amI just missed a big play in the NBA finals because of that!
amjgt Verified Member Posted June 8, 2017 Posted June 8, 2017 Don't give Molly any ideas....Molly probably had a heart attack when he saw the Mariners lineup today And somewhere, Gardy had a shiver go down his spine
LaBombo Verified Member Posted June 8, 2017 Posted June 8, 2017 I could live with Spanish over freezing. I could live with Spain freezing over. Well, Barcelona anyway.
Blake Verified Member Posted June 8, 2017 Posted June 8, 2017 I just missed a big play in the NBA finals because of that!Yes, that is the reason the emergency broadcast system has to run a test.
Pardon My Dinger Verified Member Posted June 8, 2017 Posted June 8, 2017 Has it fallen down yet? Should we alert the good people of Seattle?
jud6312 Verified Member Posted June 8, 2017 Posted June 8, 2017 Bullpen time ... congrats to the Mariners and their fans.
drock2190 Verified Member Posted June 8, 2017 Posted June 8, 2017 I just missed a big play in the NBA finals because of that! Warriors will win in 4 or 5. There I saved you some time. Oh and they will match up again next year.
LaBombo Verified Member Posted June 8, 2017 Posted June 8, 2017 Has it fallen down yet? Should we alert the good people of Seattle? We wouldn't want to start a run on bottled water, batteries, and Blue Mountain coffee.
Oldgoat_MN Verified Member Posted June 8, 2017 Posted June 8, 2017 I believe I have seen Buxton bunt for a hit exactly once.Eventually he is going to have to hit. I wish he'd swing away unless he's bunting to beat a shift. This bunting to the pitcher is not encouraging.
jud6312 Verified Member Posted June 8, 2017 Posted June 8, 2017 Well, that was completely unexpected. http://i1074.photobucket.com/albums/w420/EDIRPUA/LAFD_Large_Dumpster_Fire_No_Audio_YouTube2.gif
jud6312 Verified Member Posted June 8, 2017 Posted June 8, 2017 It'd be nice to have a bullpen arm get through an inning without giving up a run/lead, but I guess with the way things are going we should be thankful that they still have the lead. Now, as long as we don't see Matt B., I'll be more confident.
glunn Community Moderator Posted June 8, 2017 Posted June 8, 2017 I think that this is where we need to bust the game open.
jud6312 Verified Member Posted June 8, 2017 Posted June 8, 2017 I think that this is where we need to bust the game open. With 3 bullpen innings left to go, they'll need to. If they don't put up at least 3 more, I don't see things working out well tonight.
jimbo92107 Verified Member Posted June 8, 2017 Posted June 8, 2017 Duffey did give up a dinger, but I like the way he reacted - struck out the next two guys. How many pitchers do that? How many times have we seen a pitcher walk the next guy after a homer? Not Duffey, he keeps fighting.
LaBombo Verified Member Posted June 8, 2017 Posted June 8, 2017 It's in close games like this that Escobar's versatility makes a bench with only the backup catcher and a DH/1b available in addition to him seem less than completely insane.
LaBombo Verified Member Posted June 8, 2017 Posted June 8, 2017 I think that this is where we need to bust the game open. Since Sano already has one, maybe Dozier can Gallagher us an insurance home run....

I'm thinking Nico Goodrum.
drock2190 Verified Member Posted June 8, 2017 Posted June 8, 2017 Agreed, but this does suggest a question: If Escobar was traded, who in AAA or AA would take his place? I'm thinking Nico Goodrum. Escobar can hit more than Goodrum. He is saying when Polanco is here, there shouldn't be Adrianza and Escobar on the bench.

Good question, and I like your answer. With the Twins operating with a short bench for the foreseeable future, a utility infielder who can't play short is a luxury they can't afford, so it's a relatively short list of candidates if they want to promote from within. I see Goodrum's made a few putouts in CF at AA and at 2b in A+, and we know he can play 3b, so he's already got a head start on filling his utility bingo card.
Danchat Verified Member Posted June 8, 2017 Posted June 8, 2017 I'm OK with Duffey in this type of role.
mikecgrimes Verified Member Posted June 8, 2017 Posted June 8, 2017 The Twins bullpen is underated. They limit the bad outings to a handful of games where everyone's bad. I also think people are missing the real story on Giminez pitching 4 times it's not that the bullpen is awful it's that they are less willing to waste a pitcher in that situation.
mikecgrimes Verified Member Posted June 8, 2017 Posted June 8, 2017 That Tommy John surgery sure worked on Sano
