Hindsight is 20/20 but would it have made more sense for the Twins put Grossman in the field and just have the pitcher hit?

 

It's not like they needed more offense. 

Grossman in left doesn't get within the same area code of that ball.

Nice play by Polanco but it really didn't look like he needed to dive. 

 

I think he could have ranged over and picked up the ball cleanly and completed an easy double play.

It was but he made it unnecessarily outstanding... That should have been a routine double play. 

 

He left his feet too soon. Had to curl up to avoid diving past the ball. If he keeps his feet moving it would have been routine. I've watched it about 5 times now. I think I'm right.

As I sit here at Target Field during the dumbest rain delay ever, all I can say is that was a tremendous waste of time. It basically stopped raining before they even had the tarp out.

It's going to suck if rain forces Breslow out of the game. All we have left then are the AAAA pitchers Wheeler and Rucinski (or maybe Belisle who threw 30 pitches yesterday).
