The old Kyle wouldn't have struck out 5.  i'll go with encouraged for now. 

 

Gibby has a weird history of worse performance when he's getting more strikeouts. I frankly don't understand it, but it jumps out consistently in his stats over time.

 

I want to be encouraged since I some good signs. But overall this was a pretty baseline Gibby start. A few good innings, a couple that got away from him, and leaving early with runners on base for the bullpen to clean up. Against a team that has been scuffling offensively all series.

I'll hold off judging too harshly on one appearance but I don't think he convinced any skeptics that his adjustments are making a difference.

No kidding, good grief. That ball was 30 feet short of the wall with too much hangtime to do anything. I'll never understand how Dick regularly gets fooled by those balls.

Can someone give a quick synopsis of what's been happening? Sorry, been out golfing.

 

3-3 bottom of seven.

 

Gibson goes 5+, Breslow has a rough debut, but no damage done because Pressly gets two outs with the bases loaded.

 

Buxton having another rough day at the plate; 0-4. Only on K, but in the worst spot.

 

Santana having outfield adventures and generally showing why he shouldn't be in the lineup except in an emergency.

 

Kepler's stinging the ball, Rosario walked twice somehow, and Sano's having a good day at the plate albeit without much power.

Watching replay, Castro stopped at 2B before the OF had picked up the ball. He should've been at 3rd. It's ok because Polanco just doubled, but it could've been risky. And Moustakas with two balls off the tip of his glove.

 

The Twins strike in the "fatídico" 7th inning again!
