Vanimal46 Old-Timey Member Posted February 27, 2017 Author Posted February 27, 2017 who's on site today to give us some updates?
Mike Sixel Old-Timey Member Posted February 27, 2017 Posted February 27, 2017 That's one heck of a lineup.
Blake Verified Member Posted February 27, 2017 Posted February 27, 2017 That's one heck of a lineup. Looks great, let's break camp and start the season! It's a winner, I tell you, a winner! (or a TD goldmine of snark)

Jham Verified Member Posted February 27, 2017 Posted February 27, 2017 It's like they're saying to big erv, "let's see how good toy really are..."
Vanimal46 Old-Timey Member Posted February 27, 2017 Author Posted February 27, 2017 0-0 after 1. The powerhouse lineup of D Santana, Grossman, and Park couldn't hit Stubbs home from 2nd.
Vanimal46 Old-Timey Member Posted February 27, 2017 Author Posted February 27, 2017 Maybe my game cast is messing with me because now it says 2-0 Twins and Park hit a HR?
Danchat Old-Timey Member Posted February 27, 2017 Posted February 27, 2017 0-0 after 1. The powerhouse lineup of D Santana, Grossman, and Park couldn't hit Stubbs home from 2nd. MLB Gameday is telling me Park hit a 2 run homer in the 1st inning...
NoCryingInBaseball Verified Member Posted February 27, 2017 Posted February 27, 2017 Guess I tuned in late...missed another park HR!!
Vanimal46 Old-Timey Member Posted February 27, 2017 Author Posted February 27, 2017 MLB Gameday is telling me Park hit a 2 run homer in the 1st inning...Yeah mine just did that too... Hmm, I guess it's still spring training for GameDay working out the kinks.
Vanimal46 Old-Timey Member Posted February 27, 2017 Author Posted February 27, 2017 The Twins have already scared off Marlins SP Jose Urena.... Who's next on the kill list?
70charger Verified Member Posted February 27, 2017 Posted February 27, 2017 7 - 0. And you all laughed at this lineup!
70charger Verified Member Posted February 27, 2017 Posted February 27, 2017 Also, Caleb Thielbar apparently pitches for the Marlins. Who knew?
Vanimal46 Old-Timey Member Posted February 27, 2017 Author Posted February 27, 2017 7 - 0. And you all laughed at this lineup!Let's shut it all down. End on a high note for the season opener.
Jerr Verified Member Posted February 27, 2017 Posted February 27, 2017 Grossman, Park and Santana each have 2 RBI!
Pardon My Dinger Verified Member Posted February 27, 2017 Posted February 27, 2017 Yeah mine just did that too... Hmm, I guess it's still spring training for GameDay working out the kinks.Well, what was it? Are we gung ho for Byungho?
Halsey Hall Verified Member Posted February 27, 2017 Posted February 27, 2017 I was so glad Park wasn't claimed. He could be as advertised.
DocBauer Old-Timey Member Posted February 27, 2017 Posted February 27, 2017 Not saying he's going to be in the MVP discussion, but IF this is Park''s real potential, look how nice our lineup could be!
Squirrel Community Moderator Posted February 27, 2017 Posted February 27, 2017 I was so glad Park wasn't claimed. He could be as advertised. But he also did pretty well last ST, too ... when pitchers are up to speed, and we aren't seeing prospects and minor league pitching, then we'll be in a better position to judge. I want to see what he does the last half of March.
Squirrel Community Moderator Posted February 27, 2017 Posted February 27, 2017 Not saying he's going to be in the MVP discussion, but IF this is Park''s real potential, look how nice our lineup could be!It's waaaaaaay too soon to judge Park, imo. See my post above ... he did this last year, too. Pitchers are not up to season form yet ... not to mention not seeing the best of the best.
Squirrel Community Moderator Posted February 27, 2017 Posted February 27, 2017 Whooooaaa ... it's already 8-1? Hmmm ...
Squirrel Community Moderator Posted February 27, 2017 Posted February 27, 2017 So far Thielbar is the only Marlins pitcher who didn't give up a run. I don't know the Marlins pitching staff at all to know who all the pitchers are

Pitchers are not up to season form yet ... not to mention not seeing the best of the best. The hardest this to judge is how much the injury set him back last season. If he can stay healthy this year we'll get a better read on him. And like he told me, it was different, a learning curve. BTW, I'm still in motel room, no sleep in 6 days and getting very antsy, so I'm going over there tomorrow come hell or high water.

I think he plays 1st considerably better than Vargas ... but ... it is still too soon to judge.
akmanak Verified Member Posted February 27, 2017 Posted February 27, 2017 Glad to see see the Twins scoring some runs but let us not forget last and if I remember correctly the year before. Spring training really shows nothing IMO. Pitchers are simply stretching out their arms. Park will be playing with a chip on his shoulder though and it would be great to see him hit 30+ dingers this year, but the problem I see with this guy is his defense is absolute ****.
HitInAPinch Verified Member Posted February 27, 2017 Posted February 27, 2017 Now 8-3. Somebody here musta jinx'd 'em. Where the heck is the moderator! They must be expelled!!

I think he's considerably better than Vargas and would be, defense-wise, a decent platoon with Mauer. As I said above, we'll just have to wait and see about his bat.
