Game Thread: Twins @ Royals, 6:15pm CDT 9/28/2016 AD

The Minnesota Twins just went toe to toe for 11 rounds with Major League Champions of the World, the Royals of Kansas City, and this with the Bullpen pitching more than half of it.

True, they let a run slip in to end the 12th inning prematurely, but still 'tis nothing to scoff at.

Reminds me of a passage from scripture... "my brains, your brawn, his skill against 60 armed men and you think a little head jiggle will make me happy?"

Things to think about:

1) Our Assets: Stocked farm system, now surging into the majors.

2) Liabilities: Er, is total systems failure a liability? I would describe as a symptom. Our actual liability is a bunch of other competitive well established Major League franchises. But i could be wrong about that.

3) Wheel barrow... The assets we didn't assess properly. It's kinda like a band wagon. But we don't get to jump on it until next season do we? In the meantime, we can fret over the off season, the new management. What not.

4) Anybody want a peanut? It would make my day if this were a thing with responses, but some smart aleck (more often than not, me) would start talking about oranges, and locksmiths just to be difficult...

5) Have fun storming the castle! (again, self explanatory)

Without further ado...

I could use a locksmith to unlock the secrets to the deliciousness that is an orange...and also why they insist on squirting their juice in my eyes when I peel them.  They're aim is impeccable.

Got Santana on the bump.  Should be a good one!

Not to be a ... chump

but i hope we all have... fun.

( for illustration purposes only... still working on impeccable...come back later, as that rhyme is... up on it checkable)

Me? After seeing the line up, i am wondering what chataclism may unfold when Vargas steps into the batter's box against Vargas...Vargasses? How do you plural it?

Robbie is going to miss Molitor, maybe more than anyone. Lol. I realize it's the end of a miserable season, and there are guys hurt, and some not called up. But Molly is just trolling the fans now, he has to be. But then again, this isn't that much different from his lineups when the season mattered. Circa 4/1/16 thru and including 4/10/16!

Uh......it's Logan's Mom.

How do you forget a player of that stature?

Exactly. 30 something journeymen on 100 loss teams don't grow on trees.

I am confused. Is it Robbie's hitting in the 3 hole that bothers you? Or his playing LF? Or his existence on the roster? Please be more specific! :)

Dick is bemoaning the inconsistent offense. Which is what offense tends to be.

I dunno...seems like it's been pretty consistent to me.

They haven't scored more than one run in an inning since September 15th.  That's pretty consistent.

My theory on this, by the way, and this gets complicated so follow along here...an offense featurning Grossman, Schafer, Centeno, Beresford, etc etc etc is going to go through periods of time looking like a minor league lineup.  Extended periods, even.

No clue on the reference here, but I "liked" it just in case it's funny.

I hate explaining my witty comments! :). Leopards don't change there spots. Ok, so it wasn't witty, but it was a comment.

Posters here, self included, have made it clear that the biggest thing this team can do is analyze players. And as far as SS goes, we have accomplished that goal. Polanco can't play SS!

Here's something to consider:

Grossman has a pretty good OPS. So good, that one asks, should he be the LF and Rosario the 4th OF? Eddie can play all 3 spots, whereas RG is limited to LF. Makes some small sense.

Also, Vargas needs to play until he proves he's not capapble.
